72BlckButy did you have to c-notch your frame with the 6 inch drop in the rear? i really dont want to tear into my frame. ive started shopping and classic performance told me i would have to c-notch it.

Do you ever intend to haul / tow with your truck? Obviously a loaded truck is going to need more room for frame to axle travel.

No c-notch on Nates truck required.

no i will not plan on doing any towing, hauling or daily driving. i only use the truck to cruise and for car shows. the only hauling in that truck is done every sunny sunday right at noon for my dad to go get his beer from the local corner store.

original-71, did you buy that truck at pate's swap meet at the Texas Motor Speedway?? It sure looks like a truck I painted for a guy that he sold there. The guys name was David.

Thanks Keith!

I pretty well had the same idea that you do, I didn't want to hack into my frame and if need be, be able to return the truck to stock stance. (Not that it will ever happen. :))

The only time I have bottomed out I was running a pretty good lick on the highway and came off a multi-lane bridge in a dip in the road. Other than that, this thing is smooth and clean as far as suspension goes.

We've hauled a few things at various times just so we could drive the truck at the same time, but for the most part, the old red cooler, a canopy, chairs, and a cooler filled with icey cool beverages.

Looks like David Mckinleys old truck. I think. From Granbury. I thought Roger with Outback truck parts neighbor bought it from Pate? He builds and sells 1-2 a year, and sells them at Pate and GoodGuys.

Re: original-71 gets new shoes

STP67-72 my dad is rogers neighbor and he is the one that found it for me and my dad. so yes now it is confirmed that it is the same truck. when i was still in highschool i use to clean rogers cars for him before he went to car shows and there began my love for classics. me and dad originally wanted and searched for an orange and white one, but when roger was up there 3 years ago he called my dad and told him about the blue and white one. my dad then told me about it and we both trust rogers word when he said he would buy it. so we verbally bought it with out even looking at it. then when david brought it we were very happy with it and still are to this day.

good to see members out of Cypress and Spring! That's an awesome looking truck that I've seen at Nifty Fiftees a number of times. I'll be heading up there tonight if the weather's alright!
