Well I did this last weekend and not sure if I like it or not. Its not black on the wheels but a dark gray. What do you guys think?

Re: New trash truck
I liked 'em better before. It is different though, and you wouldn't ever have to worry about brake dust:lol:
|
Re: New trash truck
I like em stock. Gives the truck some contrast. But if u like em this way. That's all that matters

Re: New trash truck
Wow, missed this before, but great build! I have to say that I agree with jb1016 and spudz that I liked the stock wheels better.. But hey it's your rig!
|
Re: New trash truck
i agree with them but i like it either way
|
Re: New trash truck
Ya I am not a big fan of it, but we will see what it looks like after a buddy of mine does a little pin striping on it with the minitruckin logo put on the doors for my show. Ya this truck in now my trash/show work truck. Lol!

Re: New trash truck
cool gettin the sleeper look

Re: New trash truck
I dont like the wheels. Maybe grab a camaro center cap and paint like this? It is a 91-92 chevy camaro wheel w/cap, painted to look like dog dish wheels with hubcap.

Re: New trash truck
Sweet little trash truck  But I'm with everyone else on the wheels. Maybe consider painting them a deep metallic red or at least pinstripe the recessed areas in red and the lip....

Re: New trash truck
on my s15 jimmy, when I bought it when I was 17... It had a 3in and 4in block stacked on top of each other in the rear and the front springs completely removed all together. Just rode on the bump stops on the front and drug the shock mounts on the rear... It was terrible.. I drove it like that for about 6 months because I couldnt afford to fix it before I rasied it back up lol.. Looked cool tho.

Re: New trash truck
when I was in my early 20's I had a '53 F100 with enough springs remove'd to ley the frame lay on the axle's, look'd cool as crap (lowest truck in town) but rode like crap, I drove it that way for years .

Re: New trash truck
Cool Dime. I'm with everyone about the wheels. I believe they offered a bit of nice contrast before they were painted. When I was in high school, everyone wanted or had an S10. Some were lowered right, but most weren't. It does appear that your "trash truck" is starting to suffer from a little "mission creep". Lol!

I put a little color on it this past weekend and plus it helps with the show..
|
Re: New trash truck
looks good! Nice advertising! I still think the rims need some color....especially now with the door emblem...maybe just stripe the recessed areas red for some color???
Or...paint the lip and ring the darker red of the emblem and leave the rest as it is? Or, spray them back with an aluminum color ;) |
Re: New trash truck
Nice! How is it that I'm envious of a truck with four cylinders and zero door panels?
|
Re: New trash truck
Thanks guys.. I will do something with the wheels not sure right now what, but it will be down the road..

Update, put a blazer bumper on it, had to do some cutting on it to make it work and I will do a little body work on it down the road but it came out good. Did some work on the inside as well, its better but needs a little more work. I am just trying to get it looking ok before the show this weekend.
|
Re: New trash truck
I like the "murdered out" look... I see there is a vette wheel on the side of the building.. is it for the airhose?.. what cutting did you have to do for the blazer bumper?
