One of these on ebay for $899. Way too much in my opinion even if its new in the box.

That seems to be the million dollar problem. The clocks pop up, but rarely do I see them go for $75. I would have bought the other won for that had I been keeping an eye on it. I do see them regularly go for around $125. Keep tabs on ebay for corvair clocks...best source Ive found yet for clocks.

ok, I'll keep a look out. If you do happen to see one for a good price, let me know. preferably the one like yours or the black 64-66 one.

These are two others Id look at for installing. Both are 63 models. The first is part #985581 and its for the chevy II, the second is part # 985348 and it was used on the bel air, impala & biscayne. Both should be around the same size as they were made for clusters.

That Chevy II model looks like it just may be the ticket. I'll keep an eye open.

Thank you!

if you can find one online through a company catalog, have them measure it for you.

there's not hardly any 60's vehicles in the salvage yards around here, if they are, they're stripped. I have been doing some searches through different craigslists for corvairs & such...nothing yet. I've even done the carpart.com fill out form. I had one salvage yard call me that said they had several, but a week later they said it was too rough to mess with. I told them I could make one out of two, but never heard back.

I appreciate it, if you run across one in decent condition at a reasonable price, I'll likely take it...thanks

I'm still on the hunt guys. I've looked everywhere! I will accept any original 60-66 dash mounted clock in decent cond at a reasonable price. I believe these were used in our trucks, corvairs, greenbrier vans, chevy II nova, and possibly chevelles. There's one on epay, but I'm not giving $900 for a clock! If anyone has one at a realistic price or has a lead to one, please PM me.

Thanks,
Evan

Hey vernski, you must have missed the one for $900......outrageous for what they want on it.

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?

If I was selling those at those prices, I'd at least throw the shipping in - geez.
Times are hard in St. Bernard but I could do shipping at least!

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?

Yeah, they want way too much for these clocks! In my opionion, $75-$150 is plenty for a dash clock. $75 for average condition, $150 like new. If I found one reasonable enough, I'd be right on it:chevy:

Off topic but tow hooks are getting some high prices these days, seems like most accessories that were not common are way up the price scale..Vernski:ack:

jbgroby 08-13-2013 04:14 PM

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?

Yep, I got the OEM set for the front and a "close enough" set for the back. I'd love to see the delema on the face of a real purist when he has to be pulled from a ditch.
Something like

"OMG, those are not OEM I can't use them"!!!!

1963c-10 08-13-2013 04:23 PM

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?

I agree on the tow hooks also. I was lucky enough to find a correct set of both front and rear hooks and only have maybe $250 total invested in them. It seems the going rate for front hooks start at $200 and I haven't seen another set of factory rear hooks to put a value on. The litter containers go for $300-400 consistently. You think a big catalog company would jump on reissues of some of these items and cut the cost. I agree with Evan also about the $75-100 price range. I think that since we have to compete with a lot of high end cars...Camaros/chevells that used the top mount dash clocks and the corvairs that they are just a limited production part with many applications and that puts $$$ in the sellers eyes. Im still on the hunt for you a clock Evan....sooner or later one will pop up.

The clocks were made by borg warner for chevrolet . Someone might check to see if the sold them as well?

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?

Found out that other models used the 60-64 style clock, like Ford cars of that era, they used a different mounting base though. If anyone has the mounting base/hardware for a 60-64 dash clock that they'd let go for a fair price, let me know. Or if you wanna get rid of a whole clock for parts that's cool too. Also, if anyone has instructions that they could email me, I'd greatly appreciate it. just PM me.
