What's with all the 2 tone paint on low level trucks?
On my 81 it has ONE 'sport' (base) mirror, drivers side only. The 77 at least has 2, and the 82 has painted dumbos. The 81 has a painted bumper, no rear bumper, no spare tire, 3OTT, manual steering, 250 six, and has power brakes only because it's a 3/4 ton, all factory. The 77 doesn't even have PB. Both had rubber floors and no A/C.
When I get in the 87 diesel I feel pampered - but deaf.

'bout time you showed up (lol). Must be busy with Robotics.

Not sure what's up with that '81 with one mirror. My '80 had one on each side (Scottsdale, 6 cyl, 3ott, rubber mat, manual everything).

Good, I'm glad you like this thread. I knew that there were base model owners out there. Look at my pictures, my truck is just a single color- white.

1987 GMC Sierra. New 350, exhausts, interior, AC, and wheels & tires. My dad's truck, but as soon as my 14 year old son turns 16, it'll be his. GTT

Has anyone ever had a silverado with no options other than tilt and power steering?

I posted my 1990 GMC Jimmy SLX earlier in the thread. Just got it back from having it painted. It's not perfect, but they did a pretty good job especially for the price I paid. I did have them remove the side molding and weld up the holes, but other than that it was just repainted the stock white.

I had a Blazer Silverado, tilt wheel and electric rear window were really all it had for "luxury" options.

Can you get a close-up of that rear "Jimmy" emblem? I've never seen that one before, but then again I very rarely see 89-91 Jimmy's.

Here is my 1985 Chevy Custom deluxe it has the 305 with a 700r4 , I think I am just going to clear coat it to slow the rust , funny thing is the cab corners are rock solid and the only rust is on the cab roof , and its just surface rust

Nice '73. A simple truck from a simpler time. White painted bumpers and white painted hubcaps give it that "no nonsense" look. A look that hasn't came out of Detroit in a long, long time.

You could call mine some sort of plain jane, no AC for a California truck ect. What I like about my truck is, this is how I would have ordered one back then, big motor, HD components.

And don't you just hate the massive, glittering grilles on the new trucks? Not to mention needing a ladder to check the oil, even on a base 1500.

Glitters in sunlight:

Whereas this is actually pretty clean:
