Kinda surprised here that you don't have one of these in your back window and pack your rifle there. Guess i figured in your state there would be enough self respecting people that you wouldn't have to worry about getting your truck broken into.

If this was Facebook i'd have a whole bunch of "Like" links clicked allover this thread. :)

I'm thinking about a holster mount, as well, but may go to the center of the truck, instead of the door. Cool mod, Sharps!

I was thinking about putting a pintle mount on the roll bar of my Blazer. My friend talked me out of it.

John lee and his build (thread) are cleaned up a bit. Please stay on topic from here on out. Trolling the staff instead of contacting an admin over a disagreement will never end well. Thanks ..

glad to see its back.

I've had the rear window racks in trucks before. Super handy in the woods. Unfortunately when you come to town and park, its easy to break a window and grab them. Under the seat works well for me.

Here's my wifes holster in her truck. She shoots skeet on Thursday nights with the girls and thought I would make it easier to conceal (yes, she is trained and licensed) when out and about. Its a sleeve lined with a slick canvas that croses the rear of the seat at a 45 degree angle. Flip the seat and grab the shotgun. Simple and out of the way.

I really like this. I have never been one for open carry and the look of it (to each his own). It just seems like a good way to get your stuff broken into when your not in the truck etc.

I like the sleeves on the back of the seat. Thanks for sharing that.

If you are going to be effective at home in a defense sit-i-ation ( thats my red neck for ye) you better be good at shootin skeet with the same gun. She is top of her class with a home defense weapon at the range. Remmington 12g with a necked down 20g youth stock ( so she can wrap her hand around the neck of the stock--you can't pull it away from her).

When it's not in the truck, it rests on garage bicycle hooks that are screwed into the side of the bedframe and lays next to her. If she is at the other end of the house and happens to need protection, there are 2 wall mount safe's with magnetic push action fronts that she can quickly grab. On top of being the last girl I would ever want to run into in a dark alley, she has aquired several skills that make her a one woman Army. When people talk about running to the hills when the Zombies come, our close friends want to know where my wife will be. I'm fortunate to enjoy her cooking.

Responsible people with them don't scare me- the ones that "have to have them to defend God and Country" do.... Seems they're the most paranoid , of what??who knows.

To each there own, just not a big deal for me.

But you don't have a problem calling other people names? Sounds like you might want to re-think your statement!

You might want to add Louisiana to the list. Although you don't see very many open carry I can assure you plenty have CCW permits.

I don't carry anymore because I got tired of fighting the urge to fix stupid.

I forgot to mention, shooting skeet with an 18-19" barrel is some good shooting.

If anything is going to separate us friendly people who have our trucks in common, it's going to be a sensitive topic such as guns.
I'm not giving my feelings, I'm just stating that topics like this can't help but offend some.

Even our trucks are offensive to many. The prius driving tofu eaters of the left coast constantly make remarks about my dislike of the planet because of my truck. Funny thing is I shoot with some of them! It's actually the thing that brings us together. Anyone can be offended by anything, if that's what they desire. Just say no to being offended!

Skip Virginia and W. Virginia too plus a lot of Pa. Plenty of CCW permits around here.

I can travel from home to Fla now that WVa and Georgia are in agreement. Plus I can go clear across the country until I hit my home state of Calif. I'm currently disarmed in RI.

Why do I carry? Because I can. It a right guaranteed unto me by the Second Amendment. Same as the First secures my posting here. Exercise your rights or lose them.

Actually, the 1st has no authority here in this privately owned forum. The owners set the bounds.

Re: John Lee gets a holster

Just a BIG heads up to everyone posting in this thread or planning to post. This is a hot button topic that is very polarizing to people on both sides of the topic. First and foremost, this is a family oriented, truck site. One thing that will not be tolerated is name calling, putting others down, etc., etc. Everyone needs to play nice, keep things friendly and remember, many times sarcasm or joking does not come across in text like it does in person. It can come across as rude or instigating.

Keep it civil everyone or this thread will be locked. The mods and admins are very aware of this thread. Thanks for everyone's understanding and cooperation.

Thanks Mike,

Yes, we can't tippie toe to everyone's sensitivities, but this is surely a Hot-Button topic right now.

:) this is turning into a general discussion type topic. Not an issue, just saying.

I wish everyone a wonderful week and holiday as well. We are away this week (our girls have dance nationals) and will be celebrating the 4th as a family. I truly hope I do not have to get continued reports about folks being ugly in this thread. I really would not appreciate taking time away from my kids for that. Please play nice. I cleaned up stuff once and really wouldn't care to do so again.

Thanks!

I've learned a lot by following your build thread, I like to see what other people are doing to their trucks and your Holster was different. I don't think I would mount my handgun on the door but I do carry it a lot in my holster. I have a CCW permit and I make sure it's concealed. Have I ever needed it NO, Will I ever need it? Only God KNOWS! There has been a rash of car jackings in our area and I don't want to be a victim.

^Weak comparison.
.
The posts that followed made the point I was attempting.
My concern was how we all get along so good just talking about trucks. This thread, and your thread were closed temporarily because of how heated things got.
Some of you enjoy the 'jousting'.
There's lots of forums to debate worldly topics, I come here to relax and talk about trucks.
Staff cleaned up the debate, and put this thread back up.
Those who don't like this topic can just as easily avoid it.
I'm fine with that. No worries.

Maybe, maybe not. At least my comparison and your response are opinion founded in conviction. It is interesting that an entire thread on the installation of a Pistol Vault and a rifle rack, with photo of the rifle in place did not elicit as much discussion as this thread.

But I don't think we should be so weak willed that we can't show and tell what we are doing with our trucks. It may lead to discussion. If it doesn't lead to discussion is being "Friendly" the best thing when many feel they may only state "Love It" though in their hearts they don't?

Far and last warning, you are poking the bear. Just talk about trucks, your mods and such. Move beyond the little jabs. I completely understand your conviction but there is a time and place for everything. Regardless of how strong your convictions are, you will never get everyone to agree with them and attempting to force your ideas onto them will only result in conflicts that never end well. Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and leave it at that.

This applies to EVERYONE posting in this thread.

Thanks for your understanding.
