I have been cleaning up the wiring. Ran a new wire to feed the battery to the fuse block via the terminal on the firewall next to the brake booster. New wire to the starter. Need to find a switched power source in the engine bay to power the relay for the fuel pump.

Finally, I need to figure out the wiring to the newer style alternator. There are 4 terminals but I bought a pigtail with three wires... I just don't know what they feed...
edit: found this info and the I could be an F
P= Used to drive a tachometer (Mostly for Diesels)
L= To Indicator Lamp
I= Used To Excite Alternator
S= Sensing Wire

I'm far off from buying new wheels but I think I have decided on a wheel... It will look good with the truck as is in flat black primer and I hope to paint it Blue with a white top and side with mouldings...

Not much to update. I ordered pre bent trans cooler lines from Jegs. Ordered some high temp silicone/fiberglass insulation from fleabay to cover my nylon fuel lines. I did run the motor for a minute but I have no water in the radiator and the headers dump next to my fuel line.... I really want 2.5" ram horn manifolds but I don't want to spend money I don't NEED to....

Still need to find key-on switched power in the engine compartment to power the fuel pump relay.

Yeah. I was getting impatient waiting for the body guy to finish... Even after he's finished... I'll need custom front drive shaft. Build some front and rear bumpers and custom rear hitch mount. Top wasn't touched, maybe a soft top instead. I want to add some LED lights and need to finish the stereo.... All that is going to cost more than the 78 based on my evil plans....

I had a few calls and only one serious buyer but only offered $2k.... am I asking for too much? I took all the risk. It now runs. I finished the trans cooler lines and changed the fluid and filter. Moved a few feet on its own in the driveway. I hardly ever see any 2wd Blazers on CL for sale....

I would think you could get $3300 all day long, but markets are specific to locations. Just gotta find that person lusting after a 2wd blazer. Test drives help.

Can someone post wiring diagram pictures (or a link to large ones)
Looking at the bulkhead connector and under dash.

I replaced the battery and wired in the relay for the fuel pump today. I ran the switched wire into the cabin under the fuse panel... Haven't decided where to pull key on voltage from. I may also add a hidden switch for some additional security.

I ended up running the wire into the cab and tapped into the fuse block for the fuel pump relay. The trans doesn't want to work.... I'm thinking I may just keep building it.... rebuild the TH350.

I did some pricing a while back, and it almost seemed cheaper to get one from summit from a reputable builder than get it rebuilt locally.

I'm going to hand it off to my friend and have his shop check it out. Maybe I'll get lucky and it won't need a full rebuild.

I'm back to seeing if I can swap the headers for some Speedway Motors ram horn cast iron manifolds. The headers are kinda beat up anyway...

I want some 18" steel wheels too so if anyone can recommend wide and backspace I'm open to hear what your setup is....

I Just placed an order for the Speedway Motors Ram Horn manifolds and mandrel bent "Tight-Tubes" block hugger header extensions.... 2.5" diameter.... hope I can make them fit...

Has anyone swapped over to a simple truck tailgate? My tailgate has the tears in the corners by the glass. I really want a soft top too. We'll see...

Also, my friend swapped out the modulator and added more fluid to the trans and it should be ok. It was low on fluid because I was checking it on a sloped driveway, replaced the radiator and cooler lines, couldn't let it warm up to get an accurate level and just didn't want to overfill it....

Yes, I have a truck tailgate on my '82 right now. Threaded holes are already in the inside corners of the bed for the truck hardware. Need bottom hinge brackets and upper latch brackets.
I also did so because a soft top is in the plans.

So I'm still sitting on the truck.
I'm thinking I need to get it further along... Find some bumpers. Finish the exhaust.
Would a MACO paint job be worth it? The flat black looks like crap.
I don't really have space to work on it. I don't have a truck to grab parts either.... makes it difficult.

What's the goal? If you're just trying to push it on Craigslist, the only selling points will be how ready it is for daily driving. For example, reasonably rust-free, complete, dependable, and able to pass safety/emissions inspections. Any fancy bits such as aftermarket wheels, high-priced exhaust, sound systems, etc. will not help it move. Even if someone was buying it to slam it, they won't really care what fancy bits you have on it, because they have their own ideas of what they want.

A paint job won't pay. Junkyard bumpers(even if rusty) probably will. No one will pay extra for ram-horn manifolds. Find a set of junkyard stock manifolds and build a cheap exhaust system off of them. Keep your ram-horns for a future project of your own.

Are you selling? I've thought about a Maaco paint job for my 79 several times, still haven't ruled it out. Another option might be satin clear coat. Much cheaper than a full paint job and would give the flat black paint some character.

EDIT to add, if you're selling I wouldn't do anything, or maybe bumpers like kipps suggested. Hope you keep it though.

I have my 72 that still needs custom bumpers fabbed, a front drive shaft, finish the stereo and probably more I cant think of right now.

I do want to sell the Blazer and I don't want to lose money. I need to get the most return on the investment.

OK... Still have the truck. I think I may move forward. Clean it up. Got a line on a front bumper and an AC box.
Looking at some 20" wheel options.
Thinking about paint.. TCP Global makes a Hot Rod Flatz in Azure Blue Metallic 2505 that I like... One gallon KIT is $220.00

My opinion if you're going to paint it. Put a factory color on it. They sell easier and are usually "fit" the vehicle more.

Ditto.

I understand the appeal of the Hot Rod Flatz paints, but if you're going to go that route, I'd pick one of the colors that at least mimics one of the factory colors of the 70's. One of the pale yellows or light greens maybe?

I'd do the yellow and go with a saddle interior. That would be a keeper.

The truck was originally Hawaiian? Blue from the factory. It's a Cheyenne and has holes for the side molding. My plan was to paint it the Azure metallic flatz and then wrap the sides in pearl white vinyl. removable if I get bored or don't like it...

10-4. The Azure Blue Metallic looks better on my PC than it did on my phone. It looks similar to GM Bahama Blue Metallic, another good color. Go for it!

Pulled the carpets out, front and back. The rear is perfect. The front is not as nice with a few small holes and surface rust.

This edge of the bed where the tailgate closes is usually rusted out so I'm glad to see it's solid...

I'm sad to see that the glove box sticker is missing.... It has the holes for the side molding and a Cheyenne emblem on the AC dash surround. If I decide to recover the seats.... It will get the PLAID treatment!!
