Thanks guys, and spooky we had originally tried to run a tri 4 link but couldnt get enought angle out of the uppers. If he was running a 9 inch i could have mounted the links on top of the rear housing and ran outwards towards the framerails. With the cast center section on the 12 bolt that wasnt an option

Boxed in and Finish welded the link brackets on the axle tonight

Thanks guys, long day today. Rear is pretty much finished except for some shock mounts. Heres some pics of the 4 link progress
Welded the bag plate to the lower links http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4xejyyan.jpg Since i mounted the bag plate on the lower link so i could get a bolt into the bag on either side of the bar, the upper bag plates that we had on hand wouldnt work. The bolt/air port hole orientation was wrong. More peogress, started by fabbing up some compressor mounts to hang off on the sides of the framerail

The accuair vu4 manifold and harness will be behind the air tanks so access will be easy with the door. I think I could spend hours looking at your welds lol I weld MIG and TIG...sometimes come out well, sometimes look ****. Need to practice loads more to get to where you are. keep those photos coming! |

Gringo, the upper a arm becomes a clearance issue at full drop when i tried to mock up a single shaft from rack to column

Well guys back at it. I fabbed up some perches on the frame rails for front bed mounts. The stock rear mounts are still utilized. Heres some pics of the perches, i didnt get pics of the mount structure tied into the raised bed floor. Ill get those pics tomorrow

My buddy installed the porterbuilt gas assist hinges he ordered. I still need to weld the bracket to the underside of the hood

Yea its much nicer than mig. The ability to hammer and dolly a tig weld makes the finished product so much nicer

Johnny im using 3/32" 2% lanthanated tungsten. Im new to this so im no expert. Check out jody on youtube, weldingtipsandtricks channel. He swears by the 2% lanthanated for most all applications. At least any application we would ever need. I was running around 55 amps max for the 16ga wheel wells but your foot controller will help you dial it back when needed

Got the hood on and shimmed up right with the porterbuilt gas assist hinges. I gotta say for the price my buddy payed for these hinges the stainless hardware left a lot to be desired. Pretty poor quality. We switched everything to grade 8 hardware

Nice work tiny, i forgot to mention that in my previous comment, doing small sections letting it cool and then hammer/dollying that area out is the way to go for sure:metal:

Made some bed side support rods out of round stock
