I did NOT get to drive it :(. I replaced the fuel pump added fresh fuel and changed the accelerator pump in the Holley carb ,got it running but needed to rebuild the carb 'cause it was poring fuel all over the place . The new owner said he would deal with that. I did clean it out and recovered the seat after replacing a few (11) broken springs and repairing 1. ...And as for painting the '35, if you're talking about the logo on the door . That is added in the paint program on my computer. Not really there.

Looks good! I would like to have an older pickup some day. A guy not too far from me has a Model A I might try to buy.

I'm glad they finally stopped at your house. Looks great. They do a lot for it. It all comes together now. I too would like to own a '30s/'40s truck (or two) before I'm done

Thanks Kev.

Breckinridge is nice in the fall too. We went through in September a few years back on the way to Frisco and Silverthorne.

I don't remember the last time I went to the Royal Gorge and it's less than 20 miles from my house.

I remember back in the middle 80s as a milk/ice cream delivery guy, I made a rather large Sureway grocery in Princeton Ky every Wednesday morning. The Asst. Mgr. of the store alternated driving a beautiful K5 almost exactly like yours and a super nice 69-70 swb. I always thought the Blazer was the one and I pulled in one AM and there was a "for sale" sign in it. Jumped out and ran over there. Of course I was 20 something, broke, young family and there was no way I could reach it. You know how those memories fester through the years. I love your K5.

Learned alot just reading about everyone's fun with trucks.I signed on to enter the truck of the month cause the 67 chevy step side I am driving daily has been in the family for 19 years and it sounded like the shoe fit. I had trouble getting my pix loaded but with help from the great people on the board,.. Here I am.

Welcome to the board! Stick around a while

I went once and it was the pitfall of a wonderful vacation. last thing we did before heading to the airport, too. Wished we had skipped it. Not saying it's a horrible place, but after all the natural splendor and smaller more meaningful encounters with great people it was pure hell to end all that with landing on a tourist trap. We walked on the bridge, took pictures with giant cartoon figures then hi-tailed it to Canon City to a great Mexican restaurant we knew about... Taco Bell? JK! I forget which one but it was good!

Now that's more my style. On our western trip in the '71 camper truck we went up there on our way to 4-corners and the North Rim. Mesa Verde is no short hike for you.

I call it the bridge to nowhere. My kids take the grandkids up there every year at Halloween for "Boo on the Bridge" Costume contest. And depending on how long ago it has been things have changed alot since the fire in 2013. The favorite restaurant we always went to was The Chile Wagon but it's gone and now we go to Old Mission but there are quite a few and other than TB we'll eat at any of them.

We didn't plan long enough in the park at Mesa Verde. They give you a week long pass and we had one day.

My Daughter and Granddaughters attended the Rocky Mountain Street Rod Nationals with me on Friday. I drove my Blazer and she took the '72 C10 I gave her 17 years ago for graduation from high school. Saturday I rode down with her while the girls stayed home with my Wife. Sunday my Wife and I took the Blazer back down. It is about 100mile round trip everyday so I was ready for a day of rest on Monday.

Saturday we visited with the guy that owned the '37 Chevy coupe parked next to my daughters truck a couple different times. And then again on Sunday. He was very interesting. He comes to the US from Australia a couple times a year for a few months at a time. He keeps his '37 in California...We never got a chance to talk to who ever owned the '69 or '70 Stepside parked next to her, they came and went while we were out walking the fairgrounds.

I compounded and waxed the paint and the used boiled linseed oil and acetone mix to wipe down the hood and weathered sections of my Blazer prior to last weekends Car Show. I've gotten a lot of compliments on the results.
