Curious to know where you got the trick curved c notch for over the rear. Fab it yourself out of sheet stock, or does welder series carry them?

I have started back working on my cab, I am not really strong at bodywork but I'm just going to hammer and dolly and use my metal shrinking disc see where I end up.

I have a really big dent and I was planning on shaving the gas cap. started working on the dent and got about three hours in, its looking pretty good but I think I have at least another couple of hours left. It's a weird dent, the door was fine not a mark on it. If there are any auto body technicians I am open to constructive criticism. :chevy::hot:

Last week I picked up a bead rolled fire wall from a company out of Edmonton, Alberta Canada. www.lsfab.ca I am very impressed and I can't wait to get the new fire wall in. :metal:

Re: 1953 Chevrolet Truck Aka the money pit
on the gas filler dent, you may have to build some sort of tool to fit into the back side to push it out. then hammer and dolly to get the shape you want. when you get close look into metal shrinking, there is a stainless disc that you install on the disc grinder and it basically heats up the high spots, then you cool then quickly with a wet cold rag. you can get the same effect using a clothes iron as well from what I have heard. hammer off dolly will also bring the high spots down. I have a wray schellin disc (see website for video on how it works) and I have used it for finishing some ripply high spots when the metal has been expanded in the wrong places like that.

Firewall will look good with these panels. Looks like a fun project.

Spent some more time shaping and shrinking. Still needs a bit more work, just trying to find time is the problem.

Re: 1953 Chevrolet Truck Aka the money pit
looks good. just takes practice. def an art to it. I had 25 hrs in a rear fender with a hard patch and tons of hammer dolly and shootin epoxy. this was years ago. It was overwhelming with my schedule thinking how can I do a whole truck like this! Still haven't pursued that one but did some other patina builds. Needless to say proper metal work isn't for the faint of heart. Getting it close and using filler is fine. I wanted that "no filler" effect which is just not realistic for the most part. Keep at it and you'll start cutting that time down.
