Re: C20 New to Me
@TKCR: Thanks.

Re: C20 New to Me
Nice job, it looks pretty darn good to me

Re: C20 New to Me
I did a complete tune up today.
There is no better feeling (vehicle related) than pulling the spark plugs on your newly aquired truck and finding that all of them are a perfect golden-tan color and they have no oil residue at all. Changed the PCV Valve as well as the old one was a little noisy. |
Re: C20 New to Me
Love the truck! I hope to have one similar one day.

@jrblanke: Thanks! I'm enjoying it!

Re: C20 New to Me
Very Nice Truck
What small box speakers to you use to put behind the seat? Link? Those windshield wipers are referred to as 'Vintages' arent they ? I have my originals. . . |
Re: C20 New to Me
@GSP7:
Thanks! The box speakers are some old no-name units I found on my parts shelf. Yes, the wipers are the "vintage" units. |

Found these door carpets on the eBay.
The old ones had holes for speakers cut into them. |
Re: C20 New to Me
Good job on reusing your headliner. I'm a big fan of reusing what you have unless it's completely shot. I respect the "like new" trucks, but I don't mind mine having the character of wear and tear. I just like it if it's getting in better shape rather than worse, ha. I kept saying to myself 3M spray 77, 3M spray 77 as I was reading about your adhesive dilemma. So I'm glad it worked out. I like the truck and I'm interested to see it shape up the way you want it to be.

Worked on the truck today for the first time in a while.
The truck came with a very dark window tint that; A) Made it almost impossible to drive at night B) Looked like $h1t C) It's not legal in my state While this stuff may be practical in the south, it's a little too "in-the-hood" for where I live. Got out the old steamer and had at it. Much better IMHO. |
Re: C20 New to Me
I agree with removing the tint. I did the same thing, just not a tint guy. Truck looks great. Good to see the continuous improvement on your truck.
|
Re: C20 New to Me
:agree:
That is way better! |
Re: C20 New to Me

Just finding this thread. Nice truck and I like the tasteful things you’re doing with it. Suspect a truck of this age with little rust is a rarity in your area. Suprised you haven’t been able to locate the previous owner yet. . |

It's really getting into acceptable condition. Like I said in the south the tint is probably practical. Up north it's not. Regardless it's illegal here. |
Re: C20 New to Me
Your right you can polish a turd but in the end it's still a turd a shiny one but a turd and that truck is far from a turd I like the upgrades you've done it is a very nice truck

Re: C20 New to Me
Thanks!

Re: C20 New to Me
I hate when threads do not get closed out, so I figured I'd make one last post about this truck.
I sold it a couple months ago. Bringing it back to close to factory spec really increased the value. A local guy made me an offer I could not refuse. It served me well! |
Re: C20 New to Me
I'm glad it worked out well for you and it would be interesting to know what all you ended up changing. Thanks for the update. Maybe this means you can snag another one and improve it like you did this one.
