A few people asked how I got the chassis off the trailer by myself so here are the pics...

Put a furniture dolly under the front cross member

Lift the rear with an engine hoist
Attachment 2152825

Roll back allowing the trailer to tilt

Viola! Super easy.

Things to come shortly...

Cab is going to need a tunnel, unfortunately sheetmetal is not my strong suite.
Attachment 2152844

I think I'd like to keep the storage areas forward and aft of the notch accessible. Something similar to this one done by RS but not as squared off looking.
Attachment 2152845

And the fire wall is going to need a shave... but how much????

Likely going to use Hart Fab inner fenders so why not use their firewall to match?

Pics from the Hart Fab site.

Man you guys were busy! It's looking good Ernie. I know with me it is really hard to get into cutting body that is as nice as Millie, but it needs it. They way you and the crew are working, I expect you guys will have it all worked and running by New Years eve. ;)

Buck,

Truck is looking good. I am looking at a RS Spec chassis for one of my projects. I have a contact with a RS dealer in Tyler, so it would only be a very short drive for me to pick up. Boris is a great source, but for future reference, we are only about 650 miles away from PCB, FL. I think you are north of that aren't you?

Haven't worked on it much, have a lot going on... One kid just started Medical School the other is about to finish at Lincoln Tech... Power Tour in a week. If all goes well I will pick up the engine after Power Tour and order the Magnum TKX soon after.

I'm not sure, I've nver measured it. I can tell you it's the standard width for the RS chassis, not the narrowed unit for a fat lip.

Dang! That's a nice looking rear end. Did you have it painted or powder coated? If painted, what did you use?

What is your mocked up ride height at?

My pancaked-front-crossmember/oil-pan/trans-pan is 5" off the ground at ride height.

The bottom of the frame will be 4.5" to 5" off the ground measured below the front cab mounts. The front crossmember is higher thean that portion of the frame so it doesn't really correlate.

That is cool. So, they hide the clutch master under the dash on the pedal assembly. That is great. I guess there isn't anything on that side for it to interfere with.
