Did you have to install the larger screws to snug it down, or was it good without them?

I did not (maybe yet). I was going to wait until I got my cap on before making the call but it is very snug as is.

I sure do. You are at the top of the list of people who have confirmed they want one from the second batch. The current list is in the first post in this thread.

This post goes to the popularity in moving fuel tanks out of cab and to the rear. Never thought it was that common but it appears to be growing.

PJMoreland,
I probably should have responded to this post and not the other post. But I do want to let everyone know how well this filler neck you made worked out. If any one wants to keep the original gas cap look after removing their tank then this filler neck PJ made would be a perfect buy. I hope you sell a lot of them PJ because it really looks great. Thanks for a very well made product.

I'm so glad you are happy with it, D.B, and your truck looks outstanding.

Thanks, I will attach a couple of better pics of my truck on the other post. By the way, your truck looks amazing. I like that orange color, it works really well with that year model truck.

Thanks! I had a blue '72 Super a bunch of years ago. I really like blue on the trucks that have side trim. Not too many vehicles can get away with bright orange.

These are super awesome. If joining the wait list what do you expect the lead time to be on these? Payment now or upon the purchaser's turn in line?

Not that I'm aware of. Based on photos I see online, the 60-66 grommet looks similar to the 67-70 grommet. I'll order a 60-66 grommet so I can take some measurements.

Thanks. Definitely interested in one for a 65 truck.

Patrick, I just wanted to note that I put my 1972 cap on the filler neck and it fit just fine. I am not sure of the difference in the 67-70 and 71/72 caps, but I don’t intend to buy another cap. Sharing as FYI

Hey Patrick,
I also re-used my 72 gas cap with no issues. Sorry, forgot to mention after I installed the filler neck.

Thanks. That will simplify things for the 71-72 folks. Sorry about my incorrect assumption that the 71-72 caps wouldn't work.

I was informed yesterday by the machine shop that their laser cutting machine went down and orders are backing up while getting the machine fixed. This is a different shop than I used last time, so I canceled that order, and placed a new order with the shop I used last time. They quoted four weeks, but last time they had the parts done in about two. I'm sorry about the delay.

Got mine on today.
Super easy install.
Looks factory

And some sweet patina fell out of the front cab support.
Closer to an air ride cab yet.

Nice! Thanks for posting your photos. I like the locking gas cap. Nobody will be putting any gas in there by mistake.

Looks like you tightened those four larger screws a bit. Did they help snug up the fit?

Re: Dummy Filler Neck for 67-72 Trucks with Removed In-Cab Tank

Maybe a turn more than touching. Seemed like it tightened the whole deal up.
Very happy with the install and end result.

Thank you
