Finally got to work on the new 67-68 radiator support so we can correct the horrible fitting headlights with some fresh parts and new bezels. Safe to say I am glad I did…. Nice hole with some bondo in the center of the old one .smh.

Going to wrap this up this week. Then more onto cleaning up some wiring which bring me to my next question I’ve been trying to research

69 body. Let’s just say 68 nose. When I turn my headlights on, I have no park lamps at the time. Blinkers and hazards work as needed but they don’t stay on when I engage the headlight switch is there something I can do to rememdy this? Jump a wire somewhere or something? I’m sure there’s gotta be a thread on here about this I’m going to look more into

That is the way a 67/68 headlight switch works.
My 63 Impala does the same thing.

If you do have the Later headlight switch it may be that the front harness
keeping it functioning as the 67/68 is wired to function from the factory.

The parking light are on,Then when it is pulled to the Headlight position the Headlights only work and the parking lights go out.

Guess I can say the “nosejob” is done haha.

Buttoned up the front end this evening. New chrome, all new lights, and new hardware throughout to finally get this front clip where it needed to be. Everything is tight and the gaps could use some tweaking but it’s damn close now so I’m very happy.

Next up, I need to order all the new suspension and figure out what I want to do for brakes. Drop spindles will set this down another 2 1/2 up front, pair it with maybe another inch.. inch and a half out back and I think that’ll give the truck a killer stance with just the perfect amount of rake for a cruiser.

So this is going to be a nice truck! Fabulous find on the seat! Did your headlight buckets work from the other support or did you have to buy 67-68?

I went with a ACC mass backed carpet, honestly fits like a damn glove! Very happy with the fit and quality

Appreciate the words! I chose not to try and use the headlight buckets, they were in kinda rough shape and I figured for the couple bucks just buy all new and not have any worries. And clearly I couldn’t use the bezels either because well….. yea

Finally clocked some miles today.. thing needs an alignment BAD so I’m gonna plan on gettin that taken care of this week.

Threw some spacers on that I had laying around, quick wash and some fresh gas, a solid Sunday cruisin the old pig.

Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

So do you think instead of spacers that a set of 8" or 9" wheels would fit and look better? I am asking because I am on the fence with getting my stock wheels widened as I will be running the same caps as yours. I think it looks great and can only imagine how nice it drives even without an alignment.

I wanted to achieve a beefier stance without breaking the bank on new rims. I was on the fence about the spacers at first but after throwing them on I’m very happy.

A cheap and simple solution to give the truck alittle bit of a better fitment and stance. At the moment new wheels are out of the budget so for 120$ spacers worked out great. These are inch and a half I got them from Lugnutguys.com

Yeap, those spacers made all the difference, nice stance.

Is motivation Monday a thing? Some photoshop action and now I’m debating just how far I should lower this thing.. im not sure if a 5.5/7 would get it done to looking like this but damn that’s almost perfect in my opinion.

I don't even get park lights when turn them on, nothing lights up unless i use blinkers or hazards in either of the two headlight switch positions. Im still trying to figure this one out, gotta pull the switch and give a peak

Okay.
That would probably be in the switch or wiring to it.

Because the Front parking lights should come on the first click.
Then parking lights go out (in the front) and the headlights come on the second click.

Here’s the custom “buddy console” bracket I had made for the seats. 100% bolt in with some flare. I wanted to be able to clear the shifter as needed whether it’s full forward or full back/up or down and I think my guy nailed it. Very happy with how it all came together

If anybody in the north east is looking for a Top Tier fabricator I strongly suggest looking up SwoopsBUILT in Fishkill, NY. The guy is a wizard.

Still waiting for my disc brake kit to come in along with my new master.. got everything I need to lower the rear as well and new shocks all around so no updates until that stuff comes in. In the meantime… been driving this thing every chance I get!

They’re all on sale the moment, definately check them out! I went with smooth aluminum but they also offer various dimpled panels in 20 gauge steel as well.

Finally took the time to straighten the headlight wiring out.. move a few wires, fix some grounds. Worked like a charm.

Moved the purple wire to the empty spot on the bridged post, now my park lights finally stay on when the headlights are.

If you have not installed the headlight upgrade that moves the power for the headlight switch to relays, do it, it is one of the best upgrades for the $. I purchased mine from LMC, it's plug and play, no splices takes less than an hour and brightens your headlights as well.

Finally got some time to get the much needed disc swap and lowering components installed. CPP kit was super user friendly I’m very pleased with it… it’s not 100% yet but we’re gettin there. Still have to bleed the whole system, and send it off to get aligned. Should be about a 5/6.5 drop, I’m Definately gonna have to trim these bump stops

Truck is absolutely filthy, but I was too excited about it to care after getting it on the ground. Finally lowered down with a 5.5/6.5 drop, new discs up front with all the fixins that come along in the kits, rebuilt drums in the rear, all new shocks, all new brake lines, wilwood master/booster combo and some fresh fluids throughout got this truck almost ready for cruisin just need to get it aligned and install the adjustable panhard bar to center this rear end alittle better than it is now.

Also ran into a little snag after everything was together… driver side is sitting about a half inch taller than the passenger side, I’m worried the spring might be sitting funky in the control arm or something along those lines so I gotta check that out as well. But reguardless of all that it’s safe to say I am VERY happy with how this project has turned out thus far!
