Not to say that 235/75 x15 would not be a good size but I would go through some of the pictures threads and see what you like and then ask that person what size they are. Also maybe Palf70Step has that size on his truck and you can see how they look on his. I wouldn't just jump at the first recommendation you get. I am sorry if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help.

I was checking around with some other folks too. Just trying to figure out what others had done.

Has anyone ever installed clips on rally wheels and put a stock chrome hubcap on them? Im thinking about doing it but wanted to see a picture of it if possible before i drill and tap holes in my wheels.

Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics

BTW I agree with forestb....I just gave you that info as with that skinny a rim, that is about the biggest tire you can properly put on that rim. It will be tall like stock, but should safely handle the weight and also easy to get good low priced tires with. I have wider rims o my truck and lower profile tires on mine.

Good advice. And ask for the make and model, too. I'd swear my 235/75x15 Hankooks are narrower at the tread than tires of that size from other brands. Or, I have tire envy. One of the two.

Yes. Different brands of 235/75R15 tires have wider/flatter tread than others

Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics

Can someone help me out? I'm building this truck for my mother and I am stumped.

1966 SWB
AZ Pro Performance 14" big brake kit front and rear
Tubular upper and lower control arms and stock rear suspension type setup

3.5" static front/4.5" static in the rear.

With that Brake kit I need to run an 18" or 20" wheel and I'm fine with that.

Does anyone know what specs I need? Ideally I would love to run

20x8 or 20x9 fronts with around a 265/40 or 265/50 front and a 20x10 or 20x11 rear with a 295/40 or 305/40 or 315/35 if possible with the rear being the stock dimensions and stock wheel tubs.

235/70/15 front 275/60/15 back 15x8 4" bs all around. I don't like how sucked in the rear wheel are so I'm planning on ordering a pair of custom rally's with 3.25 bs.

Can someone here help me understand something? I went with Toyo Proxes S/T II 255/40/20 Front and 295/40/20 rears.

-Wheels are cpp rider 695 20x8.5 F / 20x10 R

I thought the "40" number meant the tires would be the same sidewall size/overall diameter. I measured the tires and the rear tire seems to be an 1" - 1 1/4" taller than the front. Is this normal?

The sidewall number is the percent of the width of the tread. In your case your sidewall is 40 percent of the 295 millimeters of the tread width.

Section Width - "205"
A metric tire's section width is measured in millimeters. This measurement is taken from sidewall to sidewall. In this example, the section width of the tire is 205mm.

Aspect Ratio - "65"
This number refers to the height of the sidewall. It is a percentage of the section width. In this example, 65 percent of the section width of 205mm equals 133.25.

Tire Construction - "R"
The "R" in this example indicates radial tire construction.

Wheel Diameter - "16"
This indicates the wheel diameter in inches.

I was under the impression the "40" is the widewall dimension as a percentage of the total width of the tire, as in 40% of 295. Therefore a wider tire will have a different sidewall than a narrower tire.

That's what i've come to understand from research at least. Your wheels look very nice regardless

goatless 05-17-2016 03:34 PM

Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics

The "40" is 40 percent of the width, 255mm and 295mm. So your sidewalls will be approximately 102mm and 118mm, respectively.

I've been using these sites for my tire comparisions:

Well I got a deal on some 20's but they won't fit over the hub on the rear axle... Any ideas what I can do...

Re: 60-66 Tire/Wheel Pics

You'll have to pull the axles and have the hub registers machined down. But you will need to leave a little lip to hold the brake drum in place.
