Me too but I really wanted something that fit the theme of the truck better. You need a tag for yours ? :chevy:

Re: 68 project
Yep, it will be okay. I am still trying to meet that June deadline though :smoke:
|
Re: 68 project
You'll do good. I think you are right on schedule.
|
Re: 68 project
Yes, it is time to pull the cab back off and finish up on the frame, suspension and getting the motor set right. I had to change my motor mounts to fit the headers they would not clear so now I have pulled the frame mounts off the 78 chassis and they clear fine. So, you can make camaro headers work on a c10 :chevy:
I will be partially tearing down the motor to do a few mods to it, I do have concern with the motor so I want to check into it further, may do a complete rebuild and add some other mods to it while I am into it. :5150: |
Re: 68 project
I love following your and Jesse's build ,I want to see both trucks when done one day .
|
Re: 68 project
Thanks for following along John, it definitely has its challenges but will be rewarding the day I get to pull it out on the street and drive it once again :chevy:
|
Re: 68 project
Mine was built by a great friends shop and took 5 years to build but I do enjoy driving it .He has just got my 1 ton 72 back on the road and next week will start getting my 72 4x4 road worthy ,It will just be a beater truck and I really look forward to it .But I do want to come see your truck one day .

Larry
I may need some schooling on what type mounts you are using as you know I have the original engine stands I think I will go with headman shortys when I get to that phase ..want to make sure i have the right application Jess |

These build threads take on a new meaning when you meet the members and see the trucks in person. I saw Larry's in late jan/early Feb? and now I want to see it done too. |
Re: 68 project
Making some really good progress Larry. The bed wood turned out really nice and the black strips really make it stand out.

Re: 68 project
Larry,
Just finished looking at every page of your build and I'm blown away by what you've done to this truck! I'm sure that you'll be right on target for June. Keep up the great work and maybe if I have time I will make the trip down to check it out. Lorne Si vis pacem, para bellum |
