That might be the nicest not really changed from original 58 in the country. Correct valve covers and correct air cleaner and a day of detailing but not over detailing under the hood plus a gentle polish and wax job and you are off to National Chevy truck shows to show in the preserved class.

That is why you don't buy a rig like that sight unseen and it's best to take your buddy or buddies with the critical eyes along. I didn't study the photos in depth last night except for looking for what had to be done in the engine compartment to have it look original .

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
Well asking and actually getting are two different things and the 28 K asking may have brought a high teens cash green offer.
Still that truck had a serious amount of "don't have to spend big money to fix" going on with it and paying a premium should mean that you aren't paying twice as much to a shop to bring it to that condition. The "one of" is worth some bucks when it hasn't been changed away from original in anything that can't easily be changed back but that means you have to keep it as is outside of putting original pieces back on or you blow the one of out the door. A nice jet black or candy red paint job that cost 10K isn't going to work with the one of thing. Kind of like buying an all original Bandit trans am and painting it red with a brown interior . Or buying an anniversary editon Corvette and making big changes. |

A pretty decent looking GMC hood and pair of AD fenders in this add. Items appear to be near Tieton WA. https://yakima.craigslist.org/pts/d/...389757136.html
The left front fender for A TF looks worth the drive if it works for someone close enough. |
Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
This is a very very nice 55, last year of the Advanced Design Series. (First Series 1955) $21,500
I’d love to own this fella but I have a 1950 one ton Panel waiting on me to get running :waah: 1955 Chevy Panel - $1 (freeport) https://maine.craigslist.org/cto/d/f...395102958.html |
Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
That is one solid looking truck. A bit on the spendy side but you wouldn't have to do a thing to it for years except general maintenance if you didn't want to.

A VERY good looking Suburban body. Patina could probably be matched...I'm not usually a fan, but I would drive this bad boy:

Property in East Wenachee is pretty spendy anyhow but That would be an excellent location for someone who did custom metal work built custom trucks or cars. It's across the street from the Air terminal, in a light industrial area where you don't get bothered much and have very few others living close. |

Coe project, the wheels and tires may make the 8k asking price a lot more friendly.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
At least four other ADs visible in the background - evidently another one of the numerous builders who specialize in those trucks.
If that one were mine, I think I'd put the engine behind the cab for easy access and maintenance. Quieter too. |
Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
He also has a 54 GMC cab for sale https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...code=undefined
Checking his other posts it looks like he does a lot of buying and selling on Chevy and GMC trucks. |

Big 55 GMC in Montana but the price isn't bad.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
you could almost put that old girl to work, maybe hauling containers out of a port. Imagine the looks you would get. reminds me of a tv show called " Cannonball".

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
As complete as it looks that is one that one of the historical truck society brigade would like or set it up to tow a 5th wheel car trailer with living quarters in the front.

It's one of those things like an AD or TF with a hoist on it though. If it works your wife will find work for you to do with it.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
nice photochop mr48 :D

No photoshop I don't do photoshop, don't know how to do photo shop and furthermore don't appreciate being accused of doing a photoshop.
I just lightened and cut the bottom off the photo of the front of the truck. I was actually trying to see if there were provisions to connect outriggers to the front. |

Gentlemen: I checked the listing last night. As you can see, the ladder goes even higher than Ogre's photo shows ;-)

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
That truck is/was in Ephrata Wa and that is a seriously conservative area. Good people who work hard no matter what their background is.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!
The add was 17 weeks old when I spotted it and didn't see the 17 week thing until last night so I suspect it is long gone. People not taking a FB add down after they sell something seems to be all too common. I messaged a guy a couple of weeks ago on something that the add was about 10 days old on and he comes back that he sold it two hours after he posted the add and wishes people would quit asking about it because he has had around 50 messages asking about it. I messaged him back that he needed to delete the add and yesterday the add is still up.
