turns out the motor is blown. im assuming after they gutted the interior, and removed the radiator they were going to drive the truck somewhere and put it on blocks and take the rims too. since the truck had no radiator they didnt make it very far before the motor overheated. the police found it in the middle of the street with 2 jacks in the back and wooden blocks. when i got it back it only had 3 lug nuts on each rims so they would remove them quickly.

could anyone give me an idea on what my best bet would be with the truck? it still has 18 inch billet boyd coddington rims. it has a blown 350 with a 5 speed that is fine. no interior, mirrors, bumper or radiator. truck is very strait besides where they popped the door handle theres a slight dent. its the original paint so its fading in a few places but isnt too bad for being 15 years old. im definitely going to sell it although im not sure if i should part out whats left, or sell it as a whole. any suggestions would be greatly apreciated

Depends on which backspacing you get. The 16x8s I'm planning on will only stick out about 1/2" further than stock. I can deal with that. If I really dont like it I can add the fender flares.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Your welcome.
I was actually gonna post a thread asking if anyone had done this combination with the grill and head lights to see how it looks, and before I get a chance too a picture surfaces! Now I wonder how it would look with a GM grille? hmmmmm.....

This is why I love this site, its an awesome place to find inspiration.

I put a set of small sealed beams from an 88 on my 97 GMC. A bolt in 20 minute deal. ;)

Here are a couple of mine. Popped the grille out, unbolted the complete headlamp assemblies and switched them out for the 88 units. The only wiring mod was to one male pin on each side. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to twist it so it plugged right in. No cutting necessary at all.
Once you take the grille assembly off you will see how the headlamp area is cut out already to fit around the sealed beams too. No more dull dim plastic headlamp lenses to worry with trying to polish up again.

I like that 88, 88. How's the ride with those 2500 springs. Thinking about a lift in the future and found a 2500 Burb as a doner (axle's).

A shot of my 89 K1500 shorty after installing my junkyard found, Hellcat Centerlines, and a couple of before shots. Also found some interior stuff. Has new brakes, windshield, and KYB rear shocks. Bumpers are replaced now w/ used units I found on CL. A work in progress.

hey 60effie, that truck got any lift to it? tire and wheel specs? looks like 10 inch wide but they 15's? also are the 31,32 or 33's? looks like it has some lift not sure though figured I'd ask.

60effie 02-12-2010 07:22 PM

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

'Bout a 3" body lift, tires are 33x12.5-15's on 15x10 wheels. Oh yeah, new power steering pump too.:chevy:

The 88 I just picked up. Tons of miles but runs like a top and pretty clean too! Need suggestions on how to flatten it out a little without losing too much ride quality.
