Think you'll make it to the first Kernersville cruise? I'm hoping to as well but I keep running into setbacks. We'll see. |

Transmission has arrived to the new donor. :metal:
That is one heavy beast though |
Re: 68 project
2 Attachment(s)
Pump is mounted and now installed, used an aeromotive pump, holley fuel tank bulkhead with rubber grommets and bolts from lowes. For a total cost of about 210.00 :metal:

Re: 68 project
Awesome. I can't wait to see this beast up and running.
|
Re: 68 project
Larry,
Will it be EFI? Or a carb? |
Re: 68 project
Was going to do a carb originally but now have decided to go with Holley sniper system, so yes efi.

Tracking bar finally came in and got it mounted, ready to set it down and get it adjusted.
|
Re: 68 project
what brand is the track bar?
|
Re: 68 project

CPP deluxe trac bar. . Much better as it bolts from trailing arm to stock frame point. |
Re: 68 project
I had that same track bar on my last truck. I had the huge diff cover too and it worked like a charm. I had to get a custom PB bar for Walter though due to the dropmembers.
|
Re: 68 project
That's a neat looking track bar. I may have to get me one of those. Does it adjust up at the stock mount end? And does it come with a spacer for the left trailing arm to match the bracket on the right side?

Re: 68 project
What is the best way to adjust the track bar to get rear axle centered? I installed mine but haven't set it up perfectly yet. I measured from a point on axle flange to the frame on both sides. Does that seem correct? Thanks and great work on everything.

Thanks Jason :chevy: |
Re: 68 project
It's a little weird because of the offset pinion not being centered in the housing
|
Re: 68 project
Well yesterday I began the process of running the wires for the tail lights and the fuel pump from the rear to the front. :smoke: The agony begins  Had ordered my front to rear tail light harness and my rear tail light harness and the plugs do not even match up. :waah: WHY !!!! :sumo:

Re: 68 project

Re: 68 project
I hope he fares better than me ,I decided to drive the Malibu vert yesterday and she pitched a real fit ,backfired ,sounded like a canon going off and blew the mufflers apart .If she wants to act like that she can hibernate in the back corner and I will drive the truck .Which she may just be missing her real owner ,I miss her too.

Re: 68 project
It was good to see you again today Larry, and thanks for the parts for my dad. The truck is looking awesome. Looks even better in person. Grade A work. I'm looking forward to seeing it complete (by June right ).
And Robert, it was nice meeting you as well. And thanks for the lenses! I will try to post up a pic of what my dad makes with the parts once he's done. |

Re: 68 project
:smoke: Ugghh !! Trying to get all the fittings and fuel lines put together seems to be quite the chore for some reason, sometimes I believe we just have to many options in life. :mm:
I almost have it though waiting for the last few fittings to come in next week and then onto the motor build and getting it and the 4L80E set back into the chassis. :chevy: |
Re: 68 project
Got up to the shop around 5:30 this morning, was able to finish running the brake lines and most of the wiring is run from the back and also was able to bolt in the e=brake cables. Now that the tips of my fingers are sore I figured it was time to head home. :mm:
