Finally test fitted the rear Budnik Pivot wheels.....man I am in LOVE with this wheel ! 22x10.5 with 6 inch back space. It looks like we are going to narrow the rearend about 2 inches on each side. They are wrapped in Pirelli Pzero Nero's 315-25-22's

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Those wheels look amazing. Perfect style for this old truck. And damn that is some meat.

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
wow, whats not to love about those wheels. even though they're a modern size they got an old school feel about them. good choice, well worth narrowing the rear.
good work on filling the seams too... |
Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Any thoughts on using a tig with silicon bronze for the gaps? I want to do something similar with my 66 (whenever I get to it) but the thought of that many tacks is making me think that the gaps aren't that bad hahah
|
Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
i've heared about someone else that tacked normal gas weldingrod to the end of the doors with a migwelder and then shave them to size the gap could use realy thin roundbar too same thickness as the folded part of the doorskin
seems to me its a bit eazier for someone not too experianced with gaswelding using bronze |

love the wheels, are you narrowing it because the wheels won't fit when the bed is on?

A few weekend updates !
Finished welding up the seams in the front of the LMC Truck fenders, after I get the front end all mocked up I will go back with 1/8 rod and make the body line I hate how you can see the cab indentations between the back of the cab and the front of the bed so we capped the top 4 inches to hide it. Got the doors all adjusted and started the gapping process |

Made some more progress on the Flex-a-lite radiator cover , I wanted radius bends on it......that was a pain ! I took a 1 inch solid steel bar and beat the radius into it .

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
nice progress this weekend. you're fixin' stuff that never bothered me before but will always from now on... thanks I think.

i been looking intoo carbon fiber
thinking about making the grille and the bumpers out of the stuff and clearcoat it might make the side trim out of the stuff too have a 78 pickup and want the grille to look more like one out of a 57 chevy truck but fitted in the regtangulair shape the original 78 grille is in , still thinking if i keep the headlight surounds or make round ones http://dealeraccelerate.s3.amazonaws...3_low_res.jpeg |
Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Do you have an up close pic of how you capped the indentions on the backside of the cab? Wondering what kind of radius you put in it to make it a smooth transition? Get what I'm saying?
|
Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"

Porterbuilt hood hinges Brady Woods "gunslinger" hood braces A shot of the smooth / extended drip rails Bob Grant of Grant Customs smoothed my stock cowl panel |
Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
cowl panel is bada** did he just cut out the vents and tig around the perimeter?
nice addition for a truck that does not need fresh air any more. |
