Found a unmolested, original as I can see, 66 c10 custom cab with all the options, that I'll need a chainsaw to rescue, IF I can find the owner and paperwork for.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
The night before last when the newly powder coated red rims came home, Nicola renamed them "The Girls" and asked if I wanted to take them to bed, based on how pleased I was with them.
Well, yesterday another small touch landed in the post from Spain, just love the internet. Metal centre cap badges for the wheels. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pshrjblu84.jpg http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psj11xmard.jpg Did not want to force the trim rings on before the tyres get fitted, but sure you get the idea. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psfbbcuci3.jpg Anyway, today I wrapped up and stashed the wheels in the garage till I get around to fitting the new tyres to them. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...pszeje16qz.jpg Today I also made an executive decision that I am selling the chrome smoothies, their caps and tyres on so that I can just keep the Rallyes on the truck. Way too many wheels about. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psygjzkp0j.jpg |

PO madness, these pans had over 20 rivets each to hold them down and a layer of filler. would have been better to weld new metal in. instead of causing more rust, it looks worse the it is!!!

Today I frenched in a set of 49 Pontiac tail lights in the 64 C10. It turned out pretty good I think. Next I need to cut the holes out in the roll pan to install the rear bumper brackets.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Not a lot.......
BUT Freecycle vs Council tip..... Well, I cut in and scored these two Peugeot 807 rear seats today before they got binned. I will keep one and pass one on to my mate Martin. Could be worked in between a pair of good bucket seats in the truck. Then the backrest acts as a table and cup holder, or as occasional seat for a third person. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psnbd2lmn4.jpg |

Been prepping some parts just to keep moving forward on my 66. Didn't have much to do but my 15 year old son really like to use the sand blaster so I let him at it! LOL
I just sat there and kept the flow of sand going and he blasted almost all day long in the sun! Hey, at least it kept him outside with his old man learning about stuff. |

Went for a drive with my son on Sunday. Of course we had to stop for some slushes. Here in this picture is another cool feature of these trucks. My son loves this.

Finished waiting on fedex to bring my boxes. Now to line up the priorities to install the disc brake frontend on the 65 ramptruck.
The 65 stepside needed a new int/exh gasket. Did not have enough useage of my hands to accomplish the job, farmed it out. Should b back today. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
My trucks original wheels sold to Hotrod Rick who came in his Chevy van to collect! after his SatNav dropped him about 5 miles from where we live. Love technology at times.
Cool custom, with little touches like Ford Sierra (Mondeo) door latches, locks, mk1 Mini fan and controls in the dash. His plans are a complete re-spray, the Chrome smoothies and to use it as a daily and for his business. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...psnhvzkswo.jpg Money handed over to Nicola to stash under the mattress for when I buy tyres for the Rallyes. |
Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I actually got a little done today.
I bent the new fuel line that goes through the cab floor... http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/...ps883cwquq.jpg and I tried my first single and (then here) double flare. I think it worked. http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/...pss0ndm7ig.jpg |

Ended up removing the rear passenger cab support. Low and behold found out that the floor underneath was toast, as is the cab corner. So I ordered cab corners, rockers as they are gone too, and we used a chunk of what good metal was left on the front floor to patch the rear floor.
