Today I put the running board checker plate back on and installed the box skirts.
I also got my now fake gas filler mounted with it's new gasket and mounting bracket. It just has a screw to the inner cab skin. Attachment 1519802 Attachment 1519803 Attachment 1519804 |

Good idea to finish out the hole. Hopefully the cap is sealed. :)

More nice work! That heater will definitely help. My 40 Ford didn't have a heater and it can get sketchy in the fall. Open the cowl vent and enjoy the freeze out.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
nice job on the cap! I stuck an upside down pop cup from QuikTrip in my 65  It worked to seal against the rubber and didnt let any water in, and not one person noticed.

Nice touch, Lower!
To keep the cap, it's all in the details!! May I say I love the '65 of Joedoh too ;):metal: |

Well this weekend I got lots done. Saturday morning I met up with a friend of a friend who works at a local injection shop. We spent 4 hrs going through the pump and injectors. The pump was out of spec and after putting some new parts into it and calibrating, it is perfect. 4 injectors where good 3 where low on pressure and one was blocked by me not having the right tools to take them apart. But all good now. By Saturday night we fired the motor back to life and wow it purrs now, also has wicked throttle response. It was so worth the time and effort. It's amazing how much better it runs on 8 cyl. lol
Sunday got both my door poppers wired permanently, cleaned up my heater wires, also terminated some other wires. This Saturday is my first drive ever!! :metal: Oh and my bday and my maiden voyage. Attachment 1521350 Attachment 1521351 Attachment 1521352 Attachment 1521353 Attachment 1521354 |
Re: My 52 GMC Build
Wow quite the machine he has there I looked around my town and couldn't find anyone that had even heard of flow matching injectors. Everyone I talked to either said "I don't work on that new crap" or "Just get bigger injectors"
I think we can all agree that we need that madden voyage video |

That is awesome you have it on the road. Killer truck!!

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Yep Bob... we local guys should get together for a cold one or a Timmies. (translation for those that aren't familiar: a Tim Horton's coffee).
Your show plaque looks good. I actually went back to the beginning of your thread this morning to refresh my memory of all the good work you've done. You should be proud of all the accolades you're getting... and will get once you start getting out on the road. Good job man!:metal: |

Then I got to work and wired up my overdrive off sw, trailer brake controller, line lock and running board lights. This is what I did with the thumb lights I got. they are just in front of where the door opens. The list is getting really short.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
He does very nice striping for sure! The lights look cool too. That is a great feeling when your list gets shorter!

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Light and pinstriping are very nice. Adam lays down some nice lines.

Got home last night and pulled the truck outside to finish up some stuff. Wrapped the main power cables in heavy spiral wrap. Put my center and passenger seat in for the first time since inter-er is done. Made and installed some battery hold downs. Installed the turbo timer, that keeps the motor running for a set time. Put foam tape on the inner fenders to seal the upper and lower parts. All that's left is to tie up some wires under the drivers dash and check everything is tight. Maybe cut some carpet for floor mats.

So Saturday after lunch when everyone showed up I drove my truck around the block for the first time EVER. It has not even been to the end of my driveway. My friend Joe was first passenger. In total I put 30 miles on the truck Saturday and got it up to 60mph.
Here is the vid :metal::bann: http://vid51.photobucket.com/albums/...psxgu5ys6d.mp4 After we came back, I drove past everyone and went the other way around the block and stopped to get fuel. http://vid51.photobucket.com/albums/...psclzcmqmj.mp4 The truck is running so good. It drives so smooth way better than I was expecting. The only problems I had was a small oil leak (now fixed) and the transmission is shifting into the next gear way to soon (better now after playing with the program) So Saturday evening we went to a local coffee shop where guys with old cars and bikes go and hang out. Not many there but it was a great drive 5 min away. It was a great 39th bday! Attachment 1523749 Attachment 1523750 Attachment 1523751 Attachment 1523752 |

For sure I did a first rollout burnout!! :hot::two:
http://vid51.photobucket.com/albums/...psncnazjwp.mp4 Then on Sunday I went for a drive in the country to bed in the front brakes and had Joe follow me just for safe measure. Then did a sweet burnout. :burnout: Once I get the transmission shifting right they should get even better because it is in second by the time I let go. Oh and I saw 8psi of boost, till I turn it up that's good for now. So far VERY HAPPY!! Drove a total of 45 miles so far. Attachment 1523753 Attachment 1523754 |
Re: My 52 GMC Build
very cool, congrats. Glad to see your hard work paying off. Just in time for the season. I was very surprised on how smooth my bagged 49' rode. I'm planning on bagging my first truck this winter cause I can't stand the static drop anymore. burnouts are wicked.
