It was originally a fire truck with 6,500 original miles. It has a custom built 1 ton independant front suspension based off of a GM 2000-2007 1 ton suspension. The lower control arms are 1 3/4 DOM. .250 wall tube and the uppers are 1 1/2 DOM. .120 wall tube. The steering is a stock style setup with the center link narrowed to meet the new suspention geomatry, massive Alligator Performance inner ball joints , 1" cromolly tie rods and 3/4" hiem joints for the outers. All front componets are brand new Moog or ACdelco. Hydroboost brake booster with front and rear disk brakes. The rear alxe is from an 03 Chevy 1 ton and has 3.73 gears. The frame is the stock 3 ton frame from the back of the cab forward , and the rear of the frame is custom built to acomadate the new ride height. It has a 4 link in the rear with 1 3/4 .250 wall DOM. link bars and panhard bar. The frame is 9" by 3" 1/4" thick C channel boxed in with 1/4" thick formed C channel from the front to the back of the cab. The rear frame is 6" by 3" .250 wall rec. tube. All brackets and parts were designed on CAD and cut out on a CNC water jet. Everything is built heavy duty and made from 3/8 plate and uses 3/4" grade 8 hardware. The air bags are Contitech 2800# bags with 3/8 line and a Little Larrys manual air swich block. The air compressor is gear driven off the engine and the system has two 8 gal. tanks and one 5 gal. tanks with an accesory air line hook up in the rear to air up tires or run air tools. The wheels are 22.5" Alcoa semi wheels that were machined to alow the use of a low prifile passenger car tires with 8 to 10 lug wheel adapters. The engine is a Cummins 12v 190hp P-pump from a school bus with 150,000 miles and the trans is a NV4500 5 speed with about the same milage. It has a South Bend 400hp clutch , pressure plate and master cyliner. The only engine mods are 4k governor springs , boost elbow , and AFC tuning. Exhaust is a 3 1/2" down pipe to 5" staight pipe. Its has a air to water intercooler system with a radiator for the water under the cab with three 10" fans and a Meziere water pump. It has a huge Mishimoto aluminium radiator with two Spal 14" 1900cfm cooling fans to cool the engine. ( ive never seen this thing run over 190 degrees) The gauges are from New Vintage USA and are replicas of the stock gauge cluster. Dakota Digital air gauge pod and for boost and EGT gauges im running Glow Shift gauges. Other then gauges the intirior has not been touched and is it almost perofect condition. The body is completely rust free but oblviously has a few dings and scratchs. The paint is 50 years old bit still has a shine. It has hand painted lettering on the side from the fire department but can be buffed off with and agressive compound if you would like your own lettering on the side. The bed is framed with 2" by 4" .120 wall rec. tube with 3/16 thick tread plate on top. It also has a hole in the top for a gooseneck trailer hitch. Sides are 1/8" sheet designed on CAD , cut out on the water jet and formed on a press brake. For paint and body the bed was metal finished , body filler was applied and it was primed and blocked twice. All seams on the underside were calked , epoxy primer was applied and the sprayed with single stage paint. The outer body was sprayed with a Sikkens semi gloss black. The top was sprayed with LineX bed liner. The chassis and underside of the cab was sprayed with and industrial 2 part expoxy semi gloss black.
