Should have it all back together tomorrow. As the manifold is aluminum, I installed SS pipe plugs in the heater, temp sender, and extra vac ports. Careful not to over tighten of course:ito:

Coming together nicely and looking good. Interesting and nice to see you still have the late 60's draft tube/smog adapter. They work great and are the easiest solution for converting to a smog valve, but like a lot of other 45+ year old parts they are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

I was wondering about that adapter. I had been wondering where the PCV valve was, it was in line, hoses were so tight together I overlooked it. Not having a sandblast booth, I wire wheeled it (and a number of other bits, and painted it with aluminum coloured rust paint. Should have all back together tomorrow except the distributor. I ordered an electronic conversion kit from Performance Improvements, should be in Tuesday. I will post a pic tomorrow of the PCV RD adapter once it is re-installed.
Thanks for noticin!

That looks awesome. I am glad the truck I settled on has a 283, but I would have loved to have had a 6! Please be sure to put more pics up as you go, can't wait to see it in the engine bay:metal:

Very nice stance, I plan to lower my front end 2.5, but kind of want to leave the rear where it stands. I am older than my truck, so I like the rake look, mild rake mind you.

I set it down after i cut the springs and before i did the rear and it looked pretty cool. I wish I would've taken a picture. It sits pretty level now.

My son and I got the front clip just about disassembled today.

We'll finish it up tomorrow and blast the cowl parts and start the smoothing process.

Next up after that, is blasting and sanding the inner fenders and core support in prep for painting.

I like the stance how's it ride? Did you change shocks? Mine seems to sit lower in the rear on the tj coils but I heard that there are different spring rates to tj coils depending on the model of jeep they came on

Yessir the tj model jeep wrangler has coil springs that aren't as heavily rated as ours and also are tapered allowing direct bolt in with the rear retainers allowing a 2 inch drop

Finished tearing the old 230 down. Crank is clean and out. Cam is clean and out. Broke the cylinder glaze with a hone, then gave the block a good bath. Dried it off, then wiped the cylinders down with WD40.

Masked off the block for primer / base / clear.

Soaking the main caps now in parts cleaner, tomorrow I'll bolt up the timing cover and oil pan before paint.

After that I'll soak the pistons in parts cleaner and polish the crank.

It was actually yester day, but, got the interior sprayed with clear coat and the exterior has its first coat of clear. Today plan on start putting interior back together. Wish I could post some pics of the 62 chevy but have not figured that part out yet.

In the new window click on "Choose File" Then locate the picture you want to upload on you PC. Then it goes back to the "Choose File" screeen, you can select another pic if you wish, or click "Upload", it may take a few seeconds to a minute depending on the number of pics, and the file size.
