Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Removed the rad after work, looks like the leak is top left. Time for a re-core I guess, will be one less thing to worry about down the road (realized the pun as I was typing, no backspace key on this computer:lol:)

Take a look into the champion aluminum rad. Vs the cost of a re core. I know that I was less money to buy new.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I bought a new champion radiator off ebay for $200 with shipping for my son's 67 Pontiac Lemans...you can't beat the price for what you get and they look great....I do recommend spending the extra money for a 3 or 4 core model VS a 2 core.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Just ordered an American Eagle Rad from Ledfoot (same as Champion), thanks for the heads up guys, it really pays to post sh&&t here!!!!!!. I have a couple weeks now to do some clean up before the rad shows up, that will make the next outing that much more enjoyable.
I have a new top rad hose, any suggestions for a new bottom hose? |

When I order goods form the USA, I need to get country of origin on everything for my customs broker in Buffalo (FYI, Champion/AE Rads are chinese). If you want to know, you can ask whoever you order goods from for the country of origin. Tell them the parts will be ending up in Canada, and you need the Info for NAFTA purposes. They MUST tell you this if you ask. |
Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Drilled the mount holes in the floor for the seat and seat belts. Headed to the parts store for shocks for the front...

Cut the pinch welds off the bottom of the cab and when I hit the frame support with a hammer this came out. I thought I'd beat all the dirt out of it but I guess I was wrong.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Got in 108 button head stainless bolts from allensfasterners. These will replace all the visible body bolts and engine accessory bolts.
I also finished stitch welding in half the panel to smoothe the cowl. Steven |

Ugggh, sanding the rust off the frame. Nothing like working in rust dust clouds. This step can't get over with fast enough for me.
