I believe yellow roof with the rest med olive. I've never seen anything but white fleetsides (between the side trim). Note: this truck would have originally just had the lower trim.

Yes, the 574 K20 would have the below Custom Two Tone scheme and it was born with the Cheyenne-optional upper trim (RPO B85). Custom Two Tones (i.e. Conventional Two Tones with no white anywhere) were available in 70-72.

1972 Chevy Cheyenne K20 (3/4 ton 4x4) 350sb ZERO CANCER, Solid body Hughes perf. TH350 W/3000 Hughes Stall converter. Truck was restored several years ago by a shop in UT. Interesting to note this is a Sierra with the Sierra Grande wording on the glovebox door. Thats why the z84 tells us the truth over the wording

So is this a factory screwup on the SPID? The correct call out should be Z84 Sierra Equipment? IE: this truck is NOT a Sierra Grande (Cheyenne Super)?

Great catch and spot on, the RPO code is what matters.

Kinda, sorta, but not necessarily. Completely agree, it is a Sierra trim truck per the RPO code, but this misaligned nomenclature use has been seen before. Certainly not a 4-eyes expert by any stretch, but this anomaly has been seen on other Fremont plant GMC trucks. Below are two "Sierra Grande" SPIDs - one Z84 (also from Fremont...) with Grande description (like the brown/white K2500 above) and one "Sierra Grande" with the expected YE9 RPO. Unfortunately the VIN/assemply plant is chopped off. Some weirdness like this has been seen on Chevs also - but "up-naming" is not common on Chevs, mostly "dual-naming" wherein both Z84 and YE9 appear on the same SPID. I HAVE, however, seen the "up-naming" on some Oshawa-built Z84s wherein a Cheyenne is labeled on the SPID as a Cheyenne Super (3rd pic).

1970 was a different sierra grande package than the 71-72 package that was the same as the cheyenne super. 1970 was an appearance package on top of the custom or super custom package i believe

Those are 67 caps. I believe the GMC is stamped into them. 68 was very similar with a little different coloring.

This is one of the very best driving trucks I have ever owned, and one of the most rust free C10/15 Chev/GMC trucks of the vintage I have seen in a long while. You know how much one of these costs let alone all fixed up, so take a serious look.

It is a 292 straight 6, with a 4 speed, disc brakes (stops very nicely and very straight), steers straight and does not wander, shake or vibrate. Tons of torque, pulls like a champ, runs out at 65 with no issues, and more to give.
Repairs:
New paint, respectable, NO FILLER in rockers or cab corners or cab or hood. (very small patch in center of driver door, have pictures). Rino Liner on Floor Pans and rockers to help keep from rusting as these all do, but, floors and rockers were in excellent shape, best I have seen in a while.

Almost no rust, see door bottom pic!

Doors shut easily, with no effort, and latch perfectly, locks work.
We did no other body work, so there are a couple minor blemishes, but adds character for sure.

Has electronic ignition, full tune up, and professional carb rebuild, split header with new dual exhaust, new tires (correct size so it drives right), gas tank removed, cleaned, and new sending unit and fuel lines, new seat cover (seat was not bad at all, but this looks better), new wiper arms, all lights, signals, gauges and etc work (except dome light?)
It does have a small bit of rust under battery, but core support is OK and would be minor patch up to secure up if you decide to, I didn't care. Flatbed was professionally built, is heavy duty, and will handle heavy loads with ease as truck has leaf springs and overload shocks.

I really hate to sell as this cab is just so very nice, but, I have another project identified. You can pay about this much for a total project truck, this one needs nothing.

This would be perfect for a vineyard, or landscaper, or contractor as a mascot truck, or just a great work truck.
If you need check engine lights, DEQ hassles, huge payments and expensive repairs, this truck is not for you!

I wonder why it has the 69-70 style of two tone with the white on the bottom? And I am guessing it had the windshield replaced at some time and they decided to not put the SS trim back in. But I really like this truck and hope to own it as is and drive it home! If anyone lives nearby and can be my eyes on the ground i would really appreciate it. I bought a 69 GMC from Westslope a few years ago and still have it. This would be a nice addition.
