And the last of them for now....The last pic was taken during the eruption of Mt. St Helens, they are wiping off ash of the vehicles.

This one isn't truck related, but its a car I've never seen...and appears to be a corvette wagon? Any info on these?

Love those old dealership pics!
Found this one. I see on the extreme right someone saw the light and traded in his F**D in on a GMC! Like that 60-61 GMC behind the F**d too. |

It was known as the Waldorf Corvette, being displayed at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for the GM Motorama. There are many hits on a Google search including this Youtube post:

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
That's a cool looking wagon....certainly a corvette type design. Kinda looks a bit like a Nomad lookin' rear end.
I'd like to know more. It appears like GM thought about makin a wagon on the Vette platform....and then decided to go with the Corvair wagon......maybe....? BTW: Thanks Mark. |

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
There's one of those Corvette/Nomad wagons here in town. I don't know anything about it other than it has been driven a lot and it shows the miles.

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Wow I love the photos showing "old trucks" keeping up in "modern traffic"! Back in a time when it was easy to identify every vehicle in the photos.
With the new jelly bean shaped cars I need to read the nameplate to know who made them! |

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
The Corvettes are factory GM show cars, produced for the Autorama shows. Lots of info out there on google.

http://www.superiorglassworks.com/Su...rior-54-tk.htm They used to have a dedicated site, but must've taken it down. Poke around the internet and you can see some that people have made themselves, I've seen that one in Spokane at a car show, but I didn't talk to the owner enough to find out how he built it. |
