Re: Project: Shiro
Congrats on the killer work those guys at Nsane are doing. I hope he will send some pics of the techniques he using. The patches look better than the original metal.
You are moving right along on the chassis too. |

Mike, I consider you a 1%er in the C10 world as you only farmed out 1% of the work for your build. I consider myself a 50%er, as I need help with a few of the aspects of a truck build. I say that to say this, I feel fortunate that I am finding people I feel I can trust to do quality work at an honest price. I optimistically hopeful these relationships will continue, because the inverse would be disasterous for me. Thanks for the good words brutha! |
Re: Project: Shiro
Man I wish I had your type of money to drop on my truck, lol….Yeah I'm really liking the progress they are making on your truck.

More progress at Nsane Hot Rodz... Driver's A-piller repaired, passenger door fit checked, and bracing for the cab installed. We should see the new one-piece floor installed very soon. :metal:

Re: Project: Shiro
Was the floor really bad enough to warrant a "full floor" replacement?
|
Re: Project: Shiro
The work on the cab looks top notch!

Re: Project: Shiro
Is the floor installed yet? Just kidding Buck, they are flying along. Looks great, I'm happy for you. My firewall/ toe area seam is also pitted up, I ended up just running the wire wheel to it and cut out one area that needed repaired by the gas pedal. The floor is going to get the POR15 treatment too.

Probably my favorite truck I've seen on this forum. I miss seeing it around here and I would rather have it that my fleetside any day. To me, THAT's perfect patina.

Re: Project: Shiro
Yep I'm sure. I like it like that. I would like one just like that then I would put some skinny tires back on it and cruise the full retro vibe!
|
Re: Project: Shiro
I would swap my fleet bed in a heartbeat for a stepper but since my truck has the factory lower trim it would mean filling holes and a full body repaint. Too much trouble for a truck that looks pretty good to begin with.
We always want what we don't have... at least I do. :) |
Re: Project: Shiro
Looks like they are moving along nicely on the cab Ernie. I'm glad you are happy with them so far.

Re: Project: Shiro
Someone is slacking on the updates...

Re: Project: Shiro
I rolled under and had a really good look at my cab bottom yesterday and have almost decided to go ahead with a full floor myself. What I dont get yet is how it comes out. After reading here that your floor is "bolted" in now am I to understand that the whole thing just bolts in?? Im sure there is some pulling and prying of old clue and sealer involved, but are there really no welds to cut out? Its hard to tell looking at mine from all the undercoating built up. Its really not bad at all except for the outer parts of the floor by the rockers, but I still think the best thing to do is just replace it all.... Thanks.

Ok, after spending the day in the back yard doing chores I spent an hour renaming pics so I can post them up in a way that makes sense and doesn't repeat old updates. I think we are up to the Right cab corner, so here it goes.

Re: Project: Shiro
Very nice work! I wonder what they are using to clean or sand the metal so nicely.
