Sweet! Do you have a build thread for it? Where at in Texas?

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
I do need to start one, it goes years sometime before any movement happens. It took a few years just to find a solid donor, I did get hot and heavy on it this past summer until it got cold, hopefully in a month when it warms up I’ll get back on it… The frame is next to it in the picture and ready for the sandblaster.
I’m up around Tyler and Longview Texas, you are down Southwest of Austin right? |

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Two of them, most can hardly afford one truck, nice to have a truck with a box and one with a top, best of bothe worlds.
|
Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Yes it was nice the little while it lasted. I had the truck but there just wasn't much room for me, my wife and a carseat so I decided to get the Jimmy and not long after I sold the truck. I hated to get rid of it but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
I must say my favorite truck is a Jimmy or Blazer, my truck and trucks past have been really cool but just like a truck with a full cab.

My 1972 GMC I just picked up. I drove 9 hours round trip to pick it up and drop it off at the house. Then I took a 2 hour nap and drove another 7 hours out of town for work. I can't wait to start fixing it up.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Here's my new toy/money pit - a 1972 1/2 ton stepside. Has a 350, SM465 4 speed, ps and pdb and a heapin' helpin' of ferrous oxide!! If it looks familiar it's because it was pictured on page 24 while owned by DavTay in Jacksonville.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
So how long is that work box, are they 9ft compared to a 8ft box, heard they were a longer frame, not sure on 67-72 though. Cool truck.
|
Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Thanks, The box is 8'.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
I don't know about the frame but I can check when I get back home (~2weeks). I think the box is aftermarket.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Oh ok, good for you especially if you don't keep the box in the future. A friend of mine bought an 85 I think it is, a K20 and had a work box which he removed and found the frame was a foot longer but in the middle so had to cut the frame and shorten it then weld it back together (at a reputable shop) to fit a 8ft box, so good for you on yours. Would look cool to keep the box and lift it a bit more, likin it.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Yea I like the bed, very functional for securing my things, and its kinda grown on me. Looking to put a 4" lift on her but that's a little down the road $$$. Thanks for the info.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Think it would be real cool with a 4" lift, keep us posted.

Re: post your 67-72 4x4
Would you take off the Utility Bed ?
|
Re: post your 67-72 4x4
