Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Dino is actually in the process of stretching a short bed frame to fit a crewcab.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I don't even care if they're 16.5's. That's how bad I want them. Have to figure out a good price though.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Ya we will figure something out. (I've got to get the truck first)

This one popped up for sale locally, IT IS NOT MINE:
"1987 Chevrolet 4x4 truck, 4 door, long bed, 454 motor, new a/c, k&n air filter, custom exaust, no rust, tow package, c.d. player, 4 inch lift, 33 inch tires. $4500 obo call 425-299-4492" Things like this make me wish I had waited a little bit to buy mine but it is probably best I did... |

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Hey guys, been reading and looking on here for awhile, so I thought I'd post up some pics of my crew cab dually. I also will be starting a thread in the 67-72 section for a truck that I'm building from the ground up in my shop.
Pics of the CC dually: (Next month its going down on full air ride with 4-link) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...newpics372.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...newpics449.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...newpics448.jpg |

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Thanks for all the replies guys! I gotta say I've been a member on ALOT of forums, and by far this forum seems to be the best as far as information goes, quality of vehicles, and over-all good attitude of its members. Glad I'm part of it! I'll be posting alot going forward with the build of my dually, the c10 build thats in my shop, and my good friends 86 Suburban's build which my shop will be doing full air ride, shave, and channel drop.
Now, with that being said. My wheels are 19.5's. There powder coated candy red. Since I took those pics, I have pulled off the black caps, and went with no caps, and long chrome lug nuts. (I've always liked the look of long lugs rotating down the road) I'm looking into doing the spike lug covers after its bagged. I have probably 50% of the interior done in it now. Just picked up some seats out of a 2004 Silverado this morning which I'll be swapping in, and building a custom council to go in between the front buckets. Ordering up all my air ride parts next week. Slam specialties bags on all four, step notch out back with a parallel 4-link, and custom tubed A-arms which I'll be fabbing up. I'm really looking forward to it laying out. Still tossing around the idea of just going ahead and channeling it when I do the air ride since It will be pretty much taken apart. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. I'll start a build thread on it once I get my regular computer back that has all my pics. |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
This is my first post, been lurking on here and finally registered.
Here's my '79 crew cab. I picked it up in November. From the factory it was a C20 SRW with a 350 and automatic. It was converted to a 6.2 diesel 4 speed dually. I bought it with a rod hanging out of the pan. Drove 2 hours each way late one night to pick it up (was definitely worth the trip) I have an extra 6.2 I was going to put in, but I found another truck needing an engine that I *might* be able to get, which would make a better DD. Maybe this will get a big block then:sexy: http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...x/IMG_1035.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...x/IMG_1036.jpg http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...x/IMG_1038.jpg |

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
The red camper spcl. looks decent for the part of the country its from (snow/salt belt). What kind of suspension mods are you planning ..... if any?

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I'm definitely not going to lower it. You can tell the front is sitting pretty low in that pic. When I took the engine out it went up a good 3 inches. I suppose because the 6.2 is heavier than the 350 that it originally had.
I want it to sit that high with an engine in it. I have 3 of the wheels for the rear, but am missing one. It even came with 2 chrome simulators for the front. I need to get some for the back. |

awesome truck you pickedup there got any interior shots looks like it has buckets |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Ya, and I got for $500:mm:, but as it turns out the cab floor is almost ready to fall out even though the seller assured the cab was solid.
It does have buckets and a center console. I can possibly get pics today, if enough snow melted so I can get the door open. The dash and door panels leave a lot to be desired, but I have a complete '77 interior that I'm going to put in it. But that was a regular cab, luckily my rear seat is in excellent shape and the door panels aren't as bad. This has all black trim because it's a scottsdale, that '77 was a silverado:metal: |

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
95 S ...... it is a camper special ..... I'll bet it, at one time, carried a camper in the bed area. Mine did & that same plug is on the inside.
But ..... that's a guess. Ratty 46 |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
It did have a gooseneck hitch, still has the hole in the bed floor. Usually you would put the plug on the inside of the box though.
|
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I agree ..... mine is on the inside wall of the bed but ...... who knows what or why folks do the things they do. Perhaps it was just easier to have it there??????

this is the picture of my dually as i bought it 81 dually with 79 front clip.
It now is completely stripped down i have installed drop spindles and 2600pound bags in the front and a paralelle four link in the rear with 3800 pound bags and a c notch i may add to the drop after i get the engine and transmission in. Ive got another donor truck which i took out the hydraboost and installed it in mine and the pedal assembly with master and slave cylinder which i will have to change the slave. Also using the donor truck box. prettty good deal smashed the cab repainted two years ago has a 454 almost perfect box hmm 600 bucks not bad. Im going to be installing a 97 cummins engine and NV 4500 in my truck. |
