Thanks Mike... Installing this VA setup has probably been one of the more challenging things of my build. Hindsight, I should have installed this sooner and before paint. Since I'm not running any of the A/C or heater hoses where they are suppose to go makes it way more challenging. I also had to relocate my ECM, relays and fuses to fit the evaporater.

Thanks Keith. I really enjoyed cruising to the Brothers show a couple of weeks ago with ice cold air. We had a great time and can't wait until next year.

Sounds like a blast!
Hey Mark, quick question. Do you have any problem with condensation build up in your cab on these hot summer days? I have an older model vintage air kit and it gets so cold it "sweats" right down at the bottom lower vent where the heat comes out in the winter.
At first I thought maybe my drain was clogged, but it was clean and clear.
It appears to be just condensation. Mostly on these 95-110+ temp days.

Mike, the system definitely sweats, especially if the outside humidity is high. Here's a picture of a water bottle I used since I didn't have time to run my drain line through the cab floor. My son/co-pilot had to empty the water bottle every 20 minutes when we were near the beach lol. I haven't had any problems with it coming out of the lower vents.

Great job on the VA Install! The routing looks perfect, so clean.

Did you have any pictures of where the ECM/Fuse/Relays now reside?

Thank You! I am really impressed how well the VA system keeps up in the Vegas summer, especially since I haven't and don't want to tint my windows.

Here's a picture of my ECM, fuses, relays and Dakota digital box inside my glove box. It's in there pretty snug but easy to access. One of my better investments was a label maker. Every wire is labeled. This really helped me out when I relocated everything.

Thanks Mike! I definitely enjoy driving it. My son wants me to pick him up from football practice every day lol. It's really cool to see a lot of us enjoying them from the tear down stages to the driving stage.

Awesome build thread.
You have your front wheels placed perfect. Did your suspension change your hub offset? Curious on the backspace of your wheel and tire combo and if you have any rub at that ride height.

do you by chance have any numbers for the trans crossmember? look at cpp and they only have round ones. like the sq/rectangle like you have.
do you have it solid mounted or have a flexible mount between the two?
one last thing could you take some measurements of the crossmember for me if it is not too much of a bother. might just fab one if i can't find the square one.
thanks in advance

I haven’t logged onto the site for a while and thought I would say hello to everyone. I have been enjoying my truck and cruising it every chance I get. This site was a huge motivator while I was doing my frame off.

Hi Mark,

I live in the Vegas area and would love to know who's your paint guy, you both did a great job. :metal:

Reading your build has given me hope that I may get to drive my truck someday too.

Thanks,

Steve

Great build! I sent a PM today. I also wondered if you could elaborate on your vintage air part numbers for everything and your engine accessory bracket system. I have the stock GEN III truck LM7 engine and am trying to find out if your system will work the same on my truck.

Thanks in advance. :chevy:

I ordered the standard kit for our trucks from vintage air. When you order the system just ask for LS compressor bracket. If you plan on running your lines like I did just plan on making several trips to your local A/C supplier for fittings because you wont use very much that came with the kit. It’s a pain in the a$$ but well worth it. I get alot of compliment’s on how clean my engine bay and how clean the A/C looks. Good luck

Great build! I'm very interested in your AC routing, how did you deal with the inner wall to the cowl? The outer is easy, Panel over the big hole, but you have to go through the inner to get to it. If you just blow it open, then you'open to the air. I'd love to get a detail pic of the inside. I'm preparing to do the same thing and was pondering this very thing over the weekend. Thanks for any help you can give.
