That thing's cool as Hell, just needs a sheet of 5/8" plywood (bed) and some cheapie farm trailer tail lights wired up. Easy-peasy. |

1953 GMC Model 620 Diesel
This would make for a beautiful original restoration, don't see many twin screws around here. https://catskills.craigslist.org/cto...758017704.html Attachment 1847694 |
Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread
I agree, would be a great restoration project.
Looks to be real solid as it is. |

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread
well thats 3/4 the way across the country . so even if i was in the market the shipping is crazy money .

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread
Tell the guy that if he brings it to NY, where the truck is advertised at, you will take it. If you were to want it anyway.

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread
Strange... Was scanning through CL out West last week for trucks and these popped up in an ad https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/...762536947.html
I thought it was for the one I posted above until I went back and looked. I noticed some guys post harder to find stuff across the country to draw more attention... |

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread
Nice '71 C-60 there in WA state.
That '70 C-80 would be at my house pretty quick if it were closer, lol. Says 6 Cylinder Gas, most likely a 478 V-6. Has a 5-Speed Trans, 2-Speed Rear and also has Air Brakes. Great price to boot. |
Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread
20 min up the road from me . . . i know a few heavy wrecker tow truck guys who can haul it . drop deck low boy trailer and she be rollin .

Looks very Restore-able. Let us know if you buy it. |
Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread
I checked in one of my 70-80 Chevy Manuals and although my book is dated '67 the HM-80 states the standard engine is a 401M and the optional a 478M. If it's the original engine still in there, it looks like it will be a Magnum. I always figured the 70 had the 401 and the 80 a 478, but let us know which one if you buy it.

3 trucks for $2500. 1971 c50, 1970 GMC and a 1968 GMC, for someone who has way more space and time than me!

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread
Interesting truck.
But that's a first. I never saw the "Air Brake" type pedal used on the Clutch side before. The Air Brake pedal will say "Air Brake" on it. Would love to see a close-up shot of that Clutch pedal. As unique as they are, I could never understand the idea of them though, lol. Although my foot never slipped off my brake pedal, I always had it in my mind that it could, especially driving with wet boots now and then like we would. |

It seems to have a clutch pedal but it also seems to have an automatic shifter ? An Allison was available on '66 M80's.
