Here are some more
Clamped in place http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace400.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace40-1.jpg Zip screwed every 4 ", later I'll come back and drill holes in between the zips every 1" for plug welds http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace404.jpg What looks like a white line is masking tape for referance, I cut about 3/16" off of the floor flange( between the longitude braces) so I could fit the seam up better, floor flange was just a little long http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace405.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd
That is one of the coolest things ever..... We can now salvage about any truck/blazer! Now if only full blazer tubs could go into production:lol:

Re: PO has me PO'd
Here's today's progress, Jon signed off on it so I guess he's happy with the work. Everything is buttoned up, and doors hung. Time to blow it apart and prep for welding. No big issues to deal with....
I couldn't fit the patch for the kick panel, so I just made a template and marked where it has to be in relation to the floorboard, BAD IDEA, DON"T DO!!!!! http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace406.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace407.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace408.jpg |
Re: PO has me PO'd
some more
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace409.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace410.jpg After I get all this welded up I'll come back and do cab corners and A and B post patches |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Jon's kinda slow so if anyone sees something obviously wrong feel free to volunteer the info...LOL
Great job Jim! |
Re: PO has me PO'd

Re: PO has me PO'd
Today's progress, started to work on the kick panels. My idea of the template didn't pan out, and am I glad I cut 1/2" below the line. You can see the original line where I cut, moral of the story always use the patch panel for fitting and since I removed the cowl it made it much easier to work in that area. Once I cut the kick area out I reinstalled the cowl for fitment of the patch. Had to cut away the lower portion of the A post to get the kick panel in there

Re: PO has me PO'd
Excellent work Jim!
This thing is going to be better than a new truck, no offense to you GM workers building the new trucks. The kick panel area is the one I'm most concerned about on my Blazer. |
Re: PO has me PO'd
That's the area that always gives me the most trouble. I'll try to document it better for ya, since I have to do the other side. I tend to go with what fits rite, as opposed to where it is supposed to go

Well, before I opened my own can of worms there, I was going to ask if those are Tri-Pro doors? Progress is looking good as always!

Re: PO has me PO'd
They look nice, are those just tape marks on them? When I re-skinned the Blazer doors, I wished I had just bought new doors. Lots of rust inside! Glad I invested in my own sandblaster.
