Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Have the rims drilled, that way you won't have to worry about adapters. There are a few places, like rim straightening shops, that can do that for ya. might be a little more $, but worth it.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
My rear 22's are 5.5 BS, I think, so it should be good. I am running a 71 rearend which makes a difference. My 20 inch fronts are 5.5 BS and are 8.5 inches wide so your 22's should be good on the front too. Do you know anyone with a 67-72 truck that is lowered who lives nearby? Only one of the holes will be drilled that actually hits another hole so it looks like an 8. All the other holes would be close but wouldn't run together..........IIRC.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
I have to say Kev, it isn't the best way to go (drilling). Adapter plates would make them stick out too far. Ummmmm, what kinda truck did these come off of??

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
they actually came off of an 07 altima...they are only 8" wide rims

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
ok..remeasured just now and from the stick laying across the back of the rim..to the mounting area is 6". and the rims are 22x8.5"

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
I'm not sure about the backspacing on mine, but it's right around 6in. When I converted to disc brakes, the mounting surface moved-out 3/4 closer towards the fender, than it was with the drums.
So that being said.... It would be like having a 3/4 inch adapter on there, and I'm clearing with 20x8.5 on front. So you may be in luck |
Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
That's alot of space to fill even with a spacer, but it sounds about right. If you take a peice of wood 1 inch thick and put it on your rotor, then push the rim up to it as close as you can it should give you a good idea of how far out it will be with adapters. Here is a website that might help with the backspacing.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
i finallly found some info on the rims...in the craziest way lol
im leaving work today..getting in my truck and notice the charger parked next to me. well i see this car just about every day, and i finally look down at his 22's. and it hit me, hes got the same damn rims as me lol. so i tell him to roll his window down and ask him about the rims... they are Lucky 6's...made by BZO. every pic i have found shows a Morpheus on the cap...so not sure why they say that. anywho, heres a link to the specs.. http://www.bzowheels.com/wheeldetail...&finish=Chrome im not sure what the numbers on the side mean....? |
Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
That +15 and +38 refers to the offset, in mm. So they have positive offset of 15 or 38mm. Now as far as that translates, I can't remember.
From what I remember, it's measured from the center of the width of the rim. So in your case, 4 1/4. Sooo, +15 would move the face of the rim 15mm closer to the lip. If that is the case, then +38 would provide the most backspace, and less lip.... I THINK. Somebody else help me out here Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
lol thanks
i was dickin around with the rims this morning to see if they fit. and from what i measured i think the 1.25 or 1.5" adapters should both work. i just laid the wheels up against the lug nut studs (they are 1" long)...and centered them into the middle. the front had probably at least another inch before they would hit. the back had tons of room. the front still needed to be aired out about 2-3 more inches, and the back is actually almost all the way up. heres a few pics.. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...119_100142.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...119_100125.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...119_103856.jpg |

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Looks good. Every time I get wheels during a build, I tuck 'em and lay-out the project. Then I take a photo, and use it as a motivator.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
the money shot...
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...203_114719.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...203_114713.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...203_114742.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y15...203_114749.jpg will be a few days before i roll it out, i need to move it to the other side because "somebody" wants to start parking in the garage.. the adapters made them fit perfect..i had to trim out the rear tub area more..and also im going to have to gut the fender and go with aftermarket hinges. they rest on the tire just a bit, but i still dont have the motor in so it will drop another inch and a half or so... so what you guys think? |
