Put the temp sensor in the thermostat neck, where it should be. Run the steam port to where you have the sensor.

Gary, couple questions after looking at the Engine pic above.
1) What radiator / fan / shroud set up are you using?
2) What headers are you using?

Thanks again, Jeff.

Hey Jeff

Entropy radiator & their fans and controler ! The headers are Headman Elite SS headers for our trucks. I did have to clearance the frame a little for the headers because of the engine being 2" forward from stock.

I was right in the thick of it !!! NO FUN....... It took better than 4 hrs to clear my walk-ways & driveway with the 44" blower on my Garden Tractor....

And I complain about blowing the leaves at my house. Clearing the snow must be a pain in the A**. We have not had any rain this month and looking at another year of water shortages in Ca.

One of these days I'm going to move to a place that gets no snow and I don't have any trees.... "LOL"

Hang in there Gary! The warmth is just a few months away. I've seriously thought at time about buying a surplus flame thrower as apposed to shoveling. :)

How fun would that be?!!

i have had that thought several times! at this latitude it never gets super cold for too many days in a row so our snow melts pretty decent between storms. sounds good, except i have a north facing drive and the daytime sun/warmth melts the snow off my roof and makes enormous ice piles on my driveway as it drips off the eaves. a flame thrower would be super!

Hey Chris !

I've made a little progress but not much. Other priorities have once again gotten in front of the truck, house projects, 16' x 20' veggie garden going in, and currently looking for another car for my daughter.... Man she is brutal on cars..... "LOL" Yes it starting to get warm, but that means I'm busy with work also, being an HVAC tech.

The truck is working it's way back to the head of the pile though. I did just get it registered so I could get insurance on it, but that also will work to get me motivated to get it done !!!!

Glad to hear things are good. I look forward to seeing more progress once it works it's way back to the top of the list anyway.

Take care Gary!

Well the truck has finally worked it's way back up the list, maybe not quite to the top but close enough. Just received my NH title in the mail, and recently got her registered and applied for a vanity plates ( 72CHEVY ) still waiting for the plates to arrive. Been busy with other things like house projects, big veggie garden and just got back from a weeks Vac. in Fla. and I just might have to rename my project, Divorce Therapy may not fit much longer :dohh:
I just purposed to my GF of 8 yrs....

Anyway; Back to the truck.... I didn't really like my upper radiator hose set-up, it would have worked fine but I wanted something that resembled the original metal pipe set-up that came on the 4x4's. So I contacted member BLTgmc and had him make up a custom SS upper radiator pipe from a template I sent him. ( Bruce did an awesome job ) I think it's much more fitting for a 72 4x4.
What do you guys think ?

Nice touch! its subtle but i can see the extra bend angle due to the alt/serp setup, I like it!

Thanks a lot Gary! Now I'm gonna have to have one of those made. And I was pretty much done.

But seriously, glad your back on the truck. Looking forward to seeing it come together down the stretch.
