88suburban, that rig is sweet, i noticed in the pictures the wheels are different color, are you running the factory argent color, or the darker charcoal/black?

Did these lights bolt in to existing holes on your burb? I have a 90 front clip on mine and needed to know if I need the whole headlight assembly from the 95? Do I need the mounting bracket,or will just the headlight itself work ?

Re: How about some pics of 2wd Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

I used the bracket. I cut the headlight bezel on the 90 grill. I attached the bracket to my radiator core support and used 4" screws with nuts for the adjustments.

Yeah he is planning on going to Drag for Diabetes in January.. His truck has come a long way.. I think since Cruisin he's got it painted and the interior has been redone.. I know it was recently shot for a magazine don't remember which one (it's more a generic custom vehicle all in one magazine)..

Here's my 76 Blazer with 6" of notch. Just enough to keep the back seat bolted into it's front brackets. The back of the seat sits about an inch or so higher than stock. Using stock inner wheelwells that are just moved up a few inches. I wanted the seatbelts to bolt into a crossmember, so I used some out of a 80's chevy fullsize van since they were the only ones long enough to reach back that far.

Thanks POPS! I just picked up a 2wd 80' and I got it in pieces... The guy had a bit of bad luck and had to part with it. The frame is partially bagged and the body sits on a stand. No front clip or motor or trans. Im going to finish up the frame first to get the body back on it then go from there.

Does it bounce alot or does the bags over axle help with that?

7071Bluck 02-23-2013 01:05 AM

Re: How about some pics of 2wd Blazers, Jimmy's & Burbs?

No the rear doesnt bounce at all, the leaves limit the lift of the bags. It only gets about 2 inches of lift in the rear

Just picked up a orig 75 2wd Jimmy for cheap. Posted on the 73up truck side as I didn't see this section. I just removed the running boards and mud flaps today, tested the paint, it'll clean up and shine ok for a driver. No dents, never and just one very small rust spot on lower driver door corner, about 3/4" long line.

looks solid! should be a fun project

I'm amazed how solid and rust free it is. It was parked for the past 7 yrs since the owner passed. No rust under or anywhere other then the one very small spot on door. Never even dented, a few dings but that's it. The interior is in bad shape, I'll replace the entire interior and probably rebuild engine, I'll clean the paint and drive it, oh yea it'll get lowered with new Ridler 18" wheels too.

SOLO 1973 Suburban

I think that was a BellTech factory car that belong to one of the reps. I was going to build one but never could find one I liked at a good price. After two years of looking this one came up and for the price I couldn't say no to. It is nearly perfect.

I use it as a kayak hauler so I added the Yakima rack and painted the wheels. Otherwise I have just enjoyed it. Plans to make a couple of small changes under the hood to dress it up. Add a new steering wheel. But it's so nice there just isn't much to do to it.

Photos were taken at Fort Morgan Dearborn Battery on the Gulf coast,
