I used these for my LED conversion. Not T3 faced but the look is pretty original.

I'll return your pm shortly. First look with the fog lights. The bulbs I have came with a high/ low setting like a headlight. I never realized that. I may use one setting for fog and 1 setting for cornering lights like Cadillacs have. The turn signal switch I have in my telescopic column has this feature built in so it would just need to be wired.

Ok so before I start headlight surgery I did a comparison of what I have here. I compared a morimoto 3.0 I put in my van and the bulb that comes with the octane lighting kit I bought. Both are in the same octane lighting housings I have. The morimoto has an excellent pattern in my van And here it shows the same. The bulb on the left with a flatter pattern is the morimoto. The right is the octane bulb with no pattern at all. Just scattered light. I'll take another in my alley tonight when it gets dark. The morimoto weren't cheap but they are super nice to drive with in my van.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
That is a big difference. Getting this combination right makes all the difference.

This is a the closest to the top of the light I could get these on the right side so I did the left side to match. I wanted these done as gm did it on the cars so both need to be on the dim beam. These are on an extra headlight bezel I am just testing on

Passenger side wet arm wiper is finished. Turned out very nicely. Driver side will be more challenging

Yes I posted on it quite some time ago. Wasn't quite sure how I was going to do this without it looking unfactory. Here Is the hose up the arm.
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Thanks. I'm interested in this. Will be anxious to see end results with other side and what nozzle kit your using. Looks awesome.
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
This is actually all gm parts. The wiper arms are original 67, arm sprayer parts are 86 gmc, the other pieces under the cowl ifabbed from 80s truck pieces.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
OMG...this thing is a GM Modzilla. Fog lights look great. I challenge you to make a SPID that reflects your creation.

I'm not sure I could afford to have Jeff make me a spid lol. Here's the driver side. I'm also moving my washer hoses to the inside the cowl and using these clips from 60' gm cars to attach them inside and have them come out the lower Cowl to the washer jar. Just cleans them up completely.
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I moved all my washer hoses inside the cowl as well, why they didn't do this from factory I dunno. Thanks for all your info on this, sweet mods!

I think these have to go now too. They look out of place. Have to cut a piece out of another cowl to make it look like the rest.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Best part about this...betcha 5 bucks this jewel never sees precipitation of any kind nor will the windshield collect any dust or detritus that is removed with the wiper blade.
...though she will be remarkably equipped for such action. Honestly I think weather and/or bugs will just be too intimidated to try you. |

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Oh I do plan on driving this truck. Not in winter or severe weather but bugs will hit it. I couldn't live with myself if I spent 15 years building it and another 15 looking at it. That wouldn't be much fun.

Got the proper 8 track mounting Brackets from member 3sondad and they are spot on. Real nice pieces. Much nicer than the pieces I had made for it myself. I had to modify the e brake cover slightly but won't be noticeable. I'm trying to get all the finishing touches done to the cab so I can get the metal work done. Hopefully by end of spring it will go for that!

I wanted an under hood light but I don't like the ones that gm used in these years So I took some 54 caddy license lamps and I'm using the extra space in the hood. I am going to use 2, one on each side. It will still work on a Mercury switch but it will be hidden under the long support.

Well I got a cut out of a 72 cab door jamb where the jack spring screws in from my nephew and it happened to fit perfectly with the cover for the over of the sentinel photo cell so I'm thinking I may get this welded in to the dash top so it looks factory recessed like the vents are.

Tonight I got the transmission oil cooler finished up and all the holes in the rad support for the fog lamps and oil cooler lines. I'm very pleased with how stock this looks. Both ac condensor and oil cooler are mounted with rubber well nuts like they started doing in the 70s. Not sure why but I'm assuming less vibration on these parts.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Instead of welding it in I bought a dimple die and pressed it into my dash. Now it will appear original.
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Slick! Those dies are a neat tool.
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Did the oil cooler brackets come with kit or did you make those? Slick.
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
This isn't a kit . The cooler is from 70 71 chrysler cars and the brackets I had fabbed up. It's one of the mopar corvette style pieces and was expensive and hard to find.i really reached to find something period correct to keep it looking original that mounted on with tabs and had thread fittings rather than just generic. http://www.restorationradiators.com/...HTC%2D7071E71B

Lights on. This should provide lots of light under the hood.

I removed a brace from another hood and modified it to fit in the center for an added center brace. Also wired the hood lights so they disconnect easily and no wiring to be seen. The Mercury sensor is mounted inside the front of the hood next to the light.

I had fibernew refinish my original bright red door panels (they didn't do under where the insert goes) and they did my tissue box to match the darker vinyl in the seat center, dash pad and the rug. Turned out very nicely. Now if only sms was a little faster at getting my door panel inserts back these would be finished .

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
That looks good.

After pulling the cowl off and on a few times the screws that go into the sheet metal always stretch the metal out and they became hard to tighten down . Here is the fix. Keeps the cowl and hood aligned better too when it's all in good condition.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

That is a great idea. Do you think that these would work as well?
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Yes you could but won't use them. Aluminum on metal I don't like and I'f you strip it you have to drill it out to replace. If you strip the clip you simply replace it.
|
Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Yeah that is a good point. I like that idea
