People always want to talk about it and what they have or use to have. Always a fun outing. Here's a couple pics from the day.

Nice truck, I love the long ones! I am going to read your build thread shortly.

Started cutting my long bed to a shortbed. Got it disassembled today and yesterday. I wasn't able to use any cross sills because they were rotted (thank god my birthday is the 28th, lol) so I'll order new. Got 8" cut from the rear, maybe tomorrow night I'll get 12" cut from the front and see how she looks mocked up pending work. I haven't been getting home until 7:30-8 at night lately so we will see!

Got the Weber 32/36 on and the new HEI in place. Used a small block wire kit because I couldn't beat the price. Dressed it best I could. 6 cyl HEI wires would have cost almost as much as the dizzy. Truck drives like a dream. No misses, hesitations, accelerates so smooth now. Still rowing the crap out of the gears going up hill though. I wouldn't call it a power gain as much as I would an improvement in drive-ability. I was getting mid to low 16's for mpg prior to this. Anxious to see the difference at next fill up.

Looks like you used the same Speedmaster HEI I did? lol You should notice a bit better mileage to. Webers are also more known for smoother performance when tuned right. That's funny...I got a good set of HEI wires specifically for a 6 cylinder all cut and crimped from Napa for $25 bucks.

I followed a link from someone (could have been you) on this site to skip white ebay store. just under $70 delivered. I was looking on the web that day for the Accel wires. never thought to go generic. Oh well. these were also just $25. Still trying to get the weber dialed in. I go out on my lunch hour and tinker in the parking garage at my work. Last week a buddy and I were diagnosing the lifter noise in my 89 Buick Wagon with the 78 Trans-Am 6.6. Security came out and wanted to know what the hell we were up to. (smokey burnouts)

Lots of attention to detail. I used a product called Calyx on my manifold parts. It's a cream that is designed for manifolds. Needs touch up every now and then but won't peel or flake off cause it's not a paint. Your parts look great. Keep up the good work and progress.

i remember u telling me of that product, but i already cleared the other cast parts, so i was like i only have these 3 parts left. the z-bar swivel and other clutch linkage i will have yellow zinc plated so im good for now!!! maybe i will use it in a few yrs when the clear fails...

I do not know, but suspect it means allowing it to "go off" so all the volatile chemicals evaporate before going to the next step. Also known as cure.
