Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
$2995
http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/4573553785.html 1985 Chevy Crew Cab Dually that has been stretched into a limousine. The story goes that a dozen or so of these trucks were built in the mid 80's for the first National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. After that this truck was supposed to have been owned by somebody famous (I don't have a clue who anymore, a title search might turn it up), it was used to pull race car trailers for a while (in a spot or two you can still see the fluorescent green paint), moved around some more, and then I bought it in 2001. I had grand plans of fixing it, and got no farther than getting the windows tinted, with limo tint of course. I had planned on putting a 6" lift and 35's on it, I still would if I had the time. The vinyl top needs fixed. I have collected all of the sheet metal that is necessary to completely replace the top with metal, I have a suburban top and a crew cab top, which should make enough sheet metal with the correct factory bends. Each of these tops extends down below the window-bottom line. I also have enough extra doors that the middle limo windows can be shaped from factory metal. Once the metal work is done, everything will have factory lines and bends. The engine was a 454. It has a spun rod bearing. It has tri-y headers, (Doug Thorly I think). Turbo400 automatic transmission, NP205 transfer case. I have a 2001 8.1L, 496/502 with 4L80E automatic transmission that is available separately. If it makes or breaks the deal, I'll find a 454 to put in the pickup so you have a running vehicle. The interior is ok, it is gray leather, with various corian pieces. It needs some TLC. I have two replacement dually fenders that go with the truck. As you can see from the pictures, I switched from the original 1985 grill to a 90's style grill. Let me know if you want to come see it, Paul show contact info (phone, text, email are all fine). I do need to sell it, so make me an offer. What's the worst that happens, we end up with a deal? |

The white limo has been for sale for a long time too. The guy needs to use current pics of it. He sent me a bunch of pics last fall, the poor thing is rotting away. Too bad he didnt throw a tarp of something over it before it deteriorated so bad. If the roof is gone, I wonder what shape the floor is in? Yes that is a big hole rotted through the roof

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I think it would be cool to restore the white one and throw a 4-6" lift on it with 22.5's and drop a 12V Cummins/5 speed set up in it. Be a pricey truck when done but it would be one of a kind and sweet as hell!

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Since have you guys on here that like the 1 ton Crew cabs I need a little help. I have a 1990 GMC Sierra V3500 crew cab 4x4. Does anyone know what the front fender emblems look like and where I can find them? Pictures if you got them.
LMC and Classic Industries don't have them. |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
no fender emblems that year

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Thanks. I just found that out. I guess the fender on the passenger side was from another older truck. Still has two holes in it.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Here are some pictures of my crew cabs.
1978 K30. Was a fire truck before thats why the narrow rearend (chassi cab) How it looked when i bought it http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/y...m/image-59.jpg How i looks now. http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/y...m/image-56.jpg http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/y...m/image-55.jpg The plan is to fix the rust and paint it two tone brown with white and replace the 350 with a 6.2 Diesel. 1977 K30. Tow truck also ordered as a chassi cab. To bad its verry rusty. http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/y...m/image-52.jpg http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/y...m/image-53.jpg No plans at the moment, was going to fix it before i found the fire truck that was i much better chape, but i cant scrap it since there are so few K30 in Sweden. 1977 K10. Original C20 but someone has konverted to 4wd with axles from a K5 and changed the frontclip. Extremely rusty and will be a parts car, have alredy donated the interior to the fire truck. http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/y...m/image-60.jpg http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/y...m/image-54.jpg My dad also has a K30 Chassi cab old fire truck but its a single cab on a crew cab lenght frame. Really good condition, his plan is to shorten the frame and put on a long bed with dually fenders and mount a wider dually axel. http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/y...m/image-57.jpg |

My '88 that I bought from original owner who lived in Las Vegas and kept the truck garaged its entire life. Before he sold it to me he wanted to make sure I was going to do the same.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Hey guys, love this thread n hope it never dies..
So I made the old crew cab community proud this weekend, took 1st place at the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza Saturday against 70+ amazing high dollar trucks and scored a feature in Diesel Army and Diesel World Magazine! Feels good the old girl can still compete against the big fancy new trucks : ) http://i1030.photobucket.com/albums/...824_102324.jpg http://i1030.photobucket.com/albums/...4-12-53-47.png http://i1030.photobucket.com/albums/...823_214830.jpg http://i1030.photobucket.com/albums/...823_211947.jpg Chris Tobin from Diesel World snappin pics as the sun came up http://i1030.photobucket.com/albums/...824_083457.jpg |

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Very cool!!
What did the dyno say? |
Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I need to take it to a local dyno and tune it. The guy down there let off at 3k rpms every time so the second turbo barley lit up. Partially my fault, I don't have the tach working yet and the motor wasn't warmed up for very long. She only made 421hp and 812ft lbs. Was a very smooth powerband though, awesome low end torque!
