Well isn't what I did today, but its part of the project I've been working on when I get time. Here is my attempt at repairing where a sunroof was installed. Sorry but didn't think to get a pic of the top before I started.

Painted my door panels and arm rests black to complete my black interior. I think they turned out really good but later I will buy some real black one.

I guess with the cold weather the old grease is getting real hard in the column and it makes it hard to get into park. Where exactly is this grease? How far will I have to take the column apart to clean the old out and replace it?

Remove steering wheel , press out the shift lever pin , remove turn signal switch and then remove the upper mast jacket collar , clean out that old rock hard & dust filled grease then use long fiber white lithium grease to lube the various parts , re assemble and loosen the adjuster clamp under the hood , shift into park and re adjust the clamp with the shifter andtranny both in park, it should be good to go for another 40 years and work smooth as silk plus make all those wonderful GM column noises....

If the shift lever pivot pin is too loose & drifts out , get a cotter pin that fits snugly inside it and a flat washer that's snug on the cotter pin , cotter pin goes in the top , washer up from the bottom , spread the cotter pin to hold the washer in place with no free play then use dykes to trim off the excess cotter pin ends .

Works like a charm & is nearly free , no one ever notices .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

It was pi$$ing down rain so I went to Long Beach where there are many good Pick-A-Part Junkyards , wandered around and found a '53 DeSoto Taxi that had a Chevy 250 L6 in it that had the hard to find late model rocker box with the raised " CHEVROLET" letters and the correct later model smog hose connections , grabbed that and discovered they'd give me a 25 % discount for being stupid enough to be swimming in the oily water so I went back to the Hearse & grabbed my tool box and coveralls , spent the next 4 hours in the mud grabbing unobtanium suspension parts from Metropolitans and such.....

By the time I left , the sun was out , I was soaked head to toe but very happy indeed .

There's a K5 (?) Blazer (square body , looks like my old '75) in there (Ecology Yard on West Lomita Blvd. Long Beach) with a very nice complete rear seat and other bits & bobs too in case there's any Blazer lovers here .

I completed the TH400 to 700R4 conversion. Everything works!! All shift points are good. Need to re-bleed the brakes, a little spongy, but the Dana 60 I put in works great with that tranny!! Now, to see how much the gas mileage improves.

That turned out great! I have the same color truck and I'm doing almost the exact same with my interior. What paint did you use on the panels?

On another note, we got the rear brakes done today. :)

Thank you. I used Dupli-color vinyl and fabrics gloss black. It covered well, just do it in about three costs and it will turn out nice.

Bit of waxing, my girlfriend got me a bunch of stuff from LMC that I will be posting in the future.

I also have a bucket seat/ megashifter conversion coming!

Oh, does anyone know what it would take to convert my marker lights to the ones on the red C10 above me?

So you're why it rained this evening!

Installed new rear coils (5" drop) along with 2degree pinion shims, shock relocators, drop shocks and my new to me 15x10 powdercoated rallies. Get to readjust the coil on the left trailing arm because it isn't sitting right, causing the left side of the frame to sit about an inch higher than the right.

Found out that my new TransDapt 12 bolt finned aluminum extra capacity differential cover won't work the stock location panhard rod. Even when using the fancy dancy adjustable one from CPP.

Went to the hardware store more for more effing bolts.

Also finished installing my NoLimit rack and pinion.

Just get some deluxe marker lights like these,

http://www.1aauto.com/1A/HeadLights/...PP00345/446677

Or from Ebay,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/68-72-Chevy-...d1ccc2&vxp=mtr

LMC has them also

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=71

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=163

I found some clear ones, but I don't know if they are legal for street use.

Then just take yours out and put the new ones in.
You may want to get bulb holders and wire them in(my ones like you have were not lighted), you can find those at local parts store.

That's a good question. My father in law got a set a while bang from pick n pull. You could always pay the $25 here for a membership, turns your name blue, and then you could post a want to buy add for a set. People can be very generous here when you post want to buy adds for smaller items like that. My $25 subscription has paid for itself many times over that way. If I had an extra set I'd say come get them, since your fairly close :D

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I didn't do anything to the truck, but my great uncle recently passed away so we were going through some old stuff to find some old photos for the memorial. I found a box of my great grandfather's stuff, and found the original leather key fob from dealership where he bought my 67 brand new, it's worn and you can barely read the lettering anymore, but that just means he carried it for a long time, which means a lot to me! It's now back in it's rightful place on the keys to my 67.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f4...220327_395.jpg

I also found a picture of my mother, at age 10, and my great grandmother standing beside my 67 when it was brand new, but haven't gotten a chance to make a copy of it yet, still haven't found a picture of my great grandfather with the truck yet though.

Picked up my 1972 short bed 4X4. It needs all the things a neglected 72 would need.

But as for now it’s at least a driver.

Since I am now single, Im going to spend Christmas $$$ I saved on this old girl.
