Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
nice read sofar , i have witnessed a tank being sealed with the gas still in it
wat happened that someone mounting a towhook drilled trough the floor intoo it they used a sanded copper coin and a huge electric soldering iron , it worked great another trick i heared about was hooking a hose up to a car exaust and let the engine run while welding it up |

Thanks Jason, I can't wait either. That would be one of many things I have to get done.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Got my parts washer today from Harbor Freight. On sale for 79 bucks. Couldn't pass it up. Especially since I have my engine all apart. I'm starting to soak stuff already. :metal:

Not a bad price. Now I have to sell some more stuff. |

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Great score on the parts washer. I know Harbor Freight has a bad rep for some of their stuff, but deals like this one just have to be jumped on.
Lots of my "use-it-once" or "I'm going to hit the chit out of this with a big beater" items come from that place, which is right on the way home for me. Problem is - I go in there looking for a 10 dollar item and when I get to my truck I've got an 80 dollar receipt in my hand. Mac. ;) |
Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Yeah I know what you mean. You have to walk down the aisle you know what you want is with blinders on, and go straight to it. Turn around and walk real fast to the cashier.
I signed up for there mailer, so I get special coupon prices if bring the coupon with me. That $79 was one of the specials. At the store the parts washer was $109.99. E-Bay prices didn't even come close with shipping. The bad thing is it's made in China. But lately it's hard to find something that's NOT made there. :me2: |

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Dennis for a good part cleaner I use "Krud Kutter" from Lowe's supposed to mix it 10:1 but 1:1 it really works well removing thick layers of grease, just melts it, just FYI if you are looking for something stronger.
