It was a long weekend. I finished moving all my parts. Got the compressor in its new hole. Cleaned up the kerosene heater. Dropped the body down on some mounts to check some stuff out. Did some trimming on the rear tub crossmember(70 tub, 72 frame). Got the boob tube going to watch movies while I work. No body to b.s. with so the tv makes up for the quiet. I've got tunes but movies make the time go by faster.
The to do list:
Pull the valve covers(TOO TALL)
Clearence the firewall for the dizzy
Figure out how to get the tub up in the air
Rubber coat the underside
Paint the firewall
Bolt the tub down for good
The back to body work..... sand sand sand.....

Good news!!! With the kerosene heater I got it up to 75 from 45 degrees within an hour. I had to turn the electric heater off and the kerosene heater down. Should be no problem to paint in there.:metal:

Not much time in the palace this weekend (we named that building the palace a long time ago, lol). Went on a road trip with my favorite uncle and board member jamie72 Saturday and on a date with my wife today. Some progress is better than none though. Got my engine crane over and all chained to the tub. I should be able to get it high enough to shoot the underside pretty easily. Took the valve covers off, too tall so they hit the firewall. Gotta buy new ones I guess. I've about got myself talked into filling in the heater box holes in the firewall and doing something different. We'll see.....

Slowly but Surely, lol.....

Spent some time in the garage yesterday and today. Yesterday was spent lockin' down the garage. I put in a security system and a 5/8" bolt lock on the door. Been some sillyness goin' down in my area. Just some prevention... Today I commited to some firewall work. Now I have to figure out what to use for a heater. I'm not really interested in air so maybe one of those JCWhitney jeep systems. I just don't care for the huge under hood box hangin' off the firewall. So out came the sheet metal and welder. I cut a couple strips and bent them up to fill in the rear were I notched the back of the tub. Little more welding and grinding and I'll be able to paint the firewall.
Can anyone name the movie???

Made some progress today. Finished welding up the firewall and the back of the tub. Looks a little more stock back there now. I'm going to do some work on the rockers to make them butt up against the bedside tighter. Started icing the firewall to smooth it out some. I got a new toy in yesterday, tuber with axial axles and tranny. Should be fun. Watched a couple movies today while I worked. Anyone know what this one is???

This tub is a 70'. The frame it came off of didn't have the horns coming out for the bumper to mount to, just brackets. The frame ended right behind the last bodymount. The frame I'm using is a 72' that has most of the rear left, lol, so it hit and held the body off the mounts. If you look at the back of a 71-72 its notched at the back to clear.

I was off again yesterday. Some of the family is without power so I went to pick them up and dropped them off with the mom and pop inlaws. Spent the day sleddin' with the niece and nephew. Might be off again today, if so I'm gonna try and work on the blazer...
