Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks
My grandpa owned this since 1969, I inherited it 9 years ago. It has a PTO winch and is stock except for the saddle tanks and wheels. 327, 4 speed, 4.57 gears (Eaton Rear).

Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks
I found it on craigslist. The guy listed it about 10 min before I ran across it. By the time I drove across town to get it, he had 3 other callers.

Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks
I will join in,but still have a lot of work to be road worthy again. I bought it for 300.00 back in 1989-90 and its a 1972 SWB with wooden bed,AC cab,PS,PB,even had the factory chrome rear bumper and from what I could tell had a 350/th350 combo but no engine and tranny when it was purchased by me.
I started cleaning up the truck and getting it ready when I found a buildable 454,so during the clean up process I had some parts in the bed of my brothers truck and one nite he parked it on the street in frt of the house only to find some nice parts like my factory chrome rear bumper and more stolen. I ended up removing the 72 cab in exchange for a $50.00 71 pretty solid non ac cab with typical rusty rockers in better shape. The truck was true 72 until I backed up into it with my jeep and ruined a cherry 72 shell,so I found a 68 entire frt clip for 50.00 and used it on the truck. I ended up getting the 454 built with a 350 tranny and actually on the street when I moved to Tulsa in the mid 90's. After quite a few drag strip passes at the Midnite Drags in Tulsa I spun a rod bearing so the truck sat until around 1994 with a wounded engine. Moved back to FortSmith and the truck was sitting idle until I built a 408 small block for my street 67 Impala and a 327 for my drag 68 Nova at the same time, after around 2 years of very playful street driving the impala with 4.10's and 3500 10" stall with the 408,I decided to place that engine in the truck with stock stall convertor and open 3.08 gears........talk about fun stepping on the gas at 40 mph and blazin the right rear. After going through a divorce and selling my 68 Drag Race Nova,I heartedly held on to my truck and started doing some work while trying to keep my sanity. I ended up doing alot of body work, ordered a ECE drop kit and customized it to a 5-8 slam job,and stopped there as it sits in its present day status like the garage pictures show. This is the truck after 408 installed with home brew drop http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...hevyofmine.jpg These 2 pictures were during the body work stages (notice door handles and cowl scoop) http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...0cars/my72.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...cars/my721.jpg This next bunch of pictures show its stage after body work partially done,no engine, and as it basically sits today waiting its turn in the garage again. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...project722.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...project724.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p.../Project72.jpg |
