Good luck. Everyone's said its a PITA! One these days I'll get to experience it myself. Yay.

Looks like a bunch of good progress. I love the gauge cluster and a/c controls too. It looks to me like you just about have the panel alignment figured out. Just out of curiosity are you planning on running any mouldings or trim or all smooth side? thanks

On the panel adjustment if you have issues with the hood make sure not to overlook the core support....the 71 blazer I had was having hood/fender issues...found out the core support was off by 1/2-3/4"....once I lined it up the hood shut and the gaps were great.

Silly guys! :haha: Invisible hood!
Everything else looks straight the hood shouldn't be too much trouble. Hopefully. Just be careful and don't ding anything up. You got someone to help sit it on there I hope.

Dude! You did a great job! I can try to help ya with the hood this weekend. The doors and fenders look straighter than mine, so why are you worried?!?!?

77chris03 11-08-2011 11:09 AM

Re: My 68 swb build.

I think its because the first time I put the hood on it wouldn't line up worth crap. I'm a little worried because some of the front isn't tight yet. I pulled the corner braces on the core support and it gave me more room to adjust. Looks like I have to woller the hole on the core support to make it work. I had a big gap on the drivers side lower grille and it closed up some but not all the way. Pass side I'm not worried its the drivers side now.

Re: My 68 swb build.

I would make sure that the cab is square on the chassis first. Then I would make sure the core support is squared up to the frame. There is alot of adjustment in those alone. Did you use aftermarket fenders? I have had problems with those. Even the good restoration ones.
