I'm a newbie here, but your build really caught my eye. I've enjoyed watching your progress. This is an excellent build. You've got some real talent. I can't wait to see the rest.

Yep.... door handles are ##@*&**ing killin me.......so bad as matter of fact I bought 2 new doors.....but considering the rework to be done, I had long talk with myself and pushed through it......here's hint of new controls behind handle...not revealing on the doors till I get it right..guess where the door lock cylinders came from....jim

China?

My guess would be a motorhome application.

Now that was funny!!!......They are early corvette fender alarm cylinders...they are identical as c10 cylinders except of course these are single pole switches...power thru them to micro switch on handle...turn key..no power to handle...so door is effectively locked from outside...oh yeah they are opening 80 lb door pulls...that metal cutout is from new 1st gen. Camaro door skins....yes more money....lol......jim

That looks great! I have no idea what those cylinders cost since they were for a Corvette, but I assume they werent cheap. They were also used in the rear.
gate of GM station wagons to roll power windows down.

Each lock will have separate battery feed....thought about having just driver's side cutting power for both doors..and pass. dummied ..but with 2 separate circuits less chance of not being able to get into truck....also may have a 3rd point of power with a magnetic switch for peace of mind..all of this does fit with one piece windows...barely....

The reason I shifted to electric was the geometry on the bear claw to the handle I could never get right without way to much pressure on handle button....1 piece windows are so close to end of door that the rod was at poor angle...I had it working but way to hard to open..almost binding button.....so went to plan B............jim

I used Impala/Corvette handles, but also installed some bear claw latches. The linkage all lined up.

Jim are you going to the swap meet in Conroe next week? If so I was still looking for a good clean drivers door if you know of one.
Thanks
