I used 2 1/2" dropped spindles and 2" dropped spring with one coil removed and the rear I used a 5" dropped spring with a 1" lowering block, Gabriel shocks for an 1981 El Camino all the way around. Front tires are 215/75/15 on a 15x7 rim Rear tires are 255/70/15 on a 15x8 rim Thank you and I hope this helps..... |

Good looking rides everyone.
Could someone lowered say 2/4 or 3/5, or 4/6 take a measurement from level ground to the wheel lip. Thanks. |

From a previous thread 14 in. from wheel well to center of hub in the front is a 2.5 in. drop. In the back it will depend on whether you have a step side or fleet side sense the wheel wells are not the same height.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66
235's don't sound to wide to me but 65 does seam a little short. I would find a truck from the sight that you like the look of and ask that person what they have. If you ask 10 people on here what tire size to use you will get 10 different answers.

3" dropped bell tech spindles, 2" shorter spring in front. re-arched the leaf springs in the rear and built a shorter shackle to get 6" out of the back.
Attachment 1224211 The old hot rodder in me could not resist the "big & littles" when it came to tires so the massive rear rubber on the 17" wheels picks the rear back up quite a bit. |
Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

Hey guys, I've got a quick question for everyone. If you have a 6" drop in the rear, do you have to the frame?
