RRG I agree with you on the wheel choice ( Wheel Vintiques? ) FOR A LOWERED TRUCK. They wouldn't look right on a stock or lifted Truck. The Truck looks good though.

Just picked up a 91 K2500, 214k, 350/4L80. Needs a bed and trans work, and a little this-and-that. Got it as you see it for $400.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
$400 seems more than fair. Welcome to the board.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Great buy! I'm about to spend almost that much for 2500 axle's, lol. Welcome!

Re building the front end now with bushing kit, springs, front brakes, hoses etc. And I just bought a new Heavy Duty Mega Monster Transmission from Monster Transmissions/Eat My Shift! Handles up to 500+ Hp! Pics when trans. arrives! :D Christmas came early for me! :metal:

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Nice DD. Just the other day we had a member debating whether or not to lower his 454SS. Is your exhaust coming out through the quarter panel?
|
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
:agree: Nice looking DD. I have always liked the 454SS's They just always pop in my head as the start of the "Sport Truck" revolution.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
It's been a while since I've visited the forums here, so I figured I'd post some pics of my fleet.
My most recent purchase is a '98 Suburban I picked up at the end of January. My family is growing by 1 this summer and with 2 boys already, a Cadillac CTS and an extended cab pickup just aren't going to cut it for hauling the family in comfort. It was time to supersize the ride. 3 rows were a requirement, but money being tight, a newer model Suburban or Tahoe was out of the question. That left me looking at the GMT-400s (not like I'm complaning) and for 3 rows, that meant Suburban. I found this one for a deal at one of the local dealerships I do work for. It was traded in by an older couple who had purchased it from the same dealership. It had been parked for nearly 2 years. I'm still working out some of the maintenance issues, but for the most part it's very solid and very clean. When I first brought it home: http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...n/IMG_1189.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...n/IMG_1193.jpg Pewter with a blue interior. That's a new one on me. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...n/IMG_1199.jpg I have done a few things since then: Removed luggage rack. Removed VentShades. Removed fender lip trim. Removed front bumper rub strip. Window tint. The headlights and taillights I took off of my '94 GMC. Anzo LED taillights and TYC Elegante headlights and parking lights. I have 4500K HIDs and a hi-4 conversion as well. The biggest change, obviously, is the suspension. I installed a pair of 2" BellTech shackles on the rear and some 2" Hotchkis coils on the front. While I was at it I installed some Energy Suspension swaybar bushings and endlinks. The truck sat 1/2" high in the rear stock. Well, the shackles gave me 1 1/2" of drop and the coils gave me 3" of drop, so I ended up with 2" of rake. Next up will be a set of hangers to level it out. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...IMG_8575-b.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...IMG_8565-b.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...n/IMG_8567.jpg I've still got quite a few plans for the future, not the least of which are a GMC grille and new rear bumper. |
Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
This is my '94 GMC. It was purchased new by my parents in January of '94. I had been driving it and working on it for the last year or so while I needed a second driver in my household. Since I bought the Suburban, I've pretty much given custody of it back to my parents. But, since they live 2 doors down from me, I have access to it anytime I need and still lay some claim to it.
While I had the truck, I removed a lot of the stick-on/bolt-on crap that my parents had installed. I had installed the TYC Elegante front lights and Anzo LED taillights that are now on my Suburban. I also updated the mirrors, went with the later smooth center caps and blacked out the chrome strip on the side molding. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...IMG_7729-b.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...C/IMG_7730.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...IMG_7731-b.jpg |

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
I remember seeing your blue truck a long time ago. It was killer then, and still is now. The other two are nice as well, and I'm with you, never seen the pewter over blue before.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
1badgmc - what size wheels are you running on your blue truck?

heres my 98 gmc sierra. bought it in february of last year as it is shown in this pic. getting a shackle kit to level it out a bit. thinking of using coil clamps up front to bring it down around half an inch. because i dont have much room. any opinions on this? or should i just go to a smaller tire and get one inch coils? |
