Tigger, I guess I haven't been paying attention. Educate me on the 149" WB.

It’s a truck l built back in 1996. I added 22” to the cab to make a extended cab, 22 plus 127 equals 149.

I have a question for the experts, why does my 71 C10 show L47 as 396 cu inch and others of the same year have L47 as 400 cu inch(example post 864)? My 71 also has 396 fender badges and all sources I find show 400 for 71-72. Thanks, Mark

This is a 1970 that I found behind a Red Barn in an Orchard. Long story short is that I get to go pick it up for free when the deep mud dries up this summer.

Here is the SPID, another post I did we were able to figure it may have had a 307. It has a locking glove box (9878HA IP Door Lock), Spare Tire carier in the bed(P13), and TH350(M49). It has 4:11 gears(H04) and was a farm truck all its life. I spoke to the owners daughter and she remembered learning how to drive in the truck when she was 13. The owners husband bought the truck new and kept it at the orchard its whole life. It was parked where I found it in 1992. It has 93 tags on the plate!
I have been trying to figure out what I want to end up with and I am stuck on the color. It's white (everything is white) with no trim, has white metal door panels, and 622 Gold Vinyl Trim? Would that just be the seat color?

I cant find the factory color anywhere. It's listed as 1523FC Special Paint?

With everything white on this truck, I would tend to believe the paint code would be 521?

Anything I have found for 523 is 1969 Silver Poly.

Can anyone help?

Here is mine. Interesting it has auxiliary battery and camper wiring, but there is no aux battery tray. When I got the truck, there was a battery in a box in the bed, wired up to one of the junction points, no relay.

Re: SPID Picture thread?

kind of a SPID / build sheet question and haven't seen a build sheet thread

posting this here as well to see if anyone knows about the wheel/tire size called out on this build sheet..

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/usi5jc8l1qa...46725.jpg?dl=0

thanks to Mrs. Bee, managed to get enough hands in the back of the seat to remove the other build sheet in tact

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/2stu28nfel6...6x600.jpg?dl=0

this afternoon I managed to overlay them to get as complete a picture as I can without damaging them..

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/9708ww4wfnl...6x600.jpg?dl=0

so first question, anyone know if the original tire size listed as 750X16X8 on build sheet were 16"?

there is no tire size listed on the SPID of this truck so not sure if there was a standard size that wouldn't be listed?

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/m9cwjkhxgi39ww0/SPID.jpg?dl=0

I've seen 16.5 expressed 165 in SPIDs, not sure about build sheets..

for instance, the other 71 longhorn SPID calls 950X165X8 which I assumed were 16.5"

That call out is for a 7.50 x 16, 8 ply tire

The other is a 9.50 x 16.5, 8 ply tire

thanks Joe! so they were a tall, skinny farm style tire, I like it!

but I was afraid of that since the truck came with 16.5s on it, ugly rusty ones that the flipper painted 'once over rust'

where o where could the original wheels be? swapped onto something they kept in the barn I bet

so factory 16" wheels were available in 71? do the wheel codes in block 58-59 identify size or width?

and while were at it, what hub caps were CB4 in block 70?

for that matter, is there a code break down for these blocks?

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/elqis07l4x1...tires.jpg?dl=0

thank you for any and all help!

LOW OPTION ENTRY! This was a 71 GMC I saw today. His Dad's truck bought new. I was surprised to see 'leaf spring' as I thought all GMC's were leaf spring standard? If so, It really has no options. Just over 100k mi and pretty much original.

If the condition of the spid is an indication of the rest of the truck, then it must be very clean. I always thought GMC's were all standard leaves too.
