I asked him that awhile ago.
He said it was simple, the Burb is hers.

SLOWLY making progress as a part-time weekend warrior.

Rebuilding the 1986 front axle assembly to replace the '64 unit. New front axle u-joint installed and finally got the steering arm and tie rod nuts removed (with a little help from the torch!).

Steering arm removal is next once I get the cones out. That should be fun!

OK pimpston65, I agree that's a nice hood. At least what I can see is really nice. What about the lower front flange? Chevy or GMC hood?

You weren't kidding. Looks MINT to me. Nearly NOS in fact. Wanna trade? I have a slightly dented blue hood that needs work. Haha! LOL! Of course you'd have to pay the shipping. Seriously, that's a nice score, especially in your part of the world where rust gets everything.

I entered my truck in it's first car show today. I wasn't expecting coming home with any trophies because I came late to the show. It turned out to be a good day, I came home with six and one of them was best in show.

Thanks!

I've been using this orange gel stuff and it works really good with no bad odor. It doesn't burn the skin off either like the old military stuff I used a long time ago.

Lugnutz,
thanks a ton for posting your pictures! I thought there was something wrong with the hole for the column, that little edge that's bent outward, I thought mine was jacked! LOL

So either both our trucks are jacked or it's factory!

Finished the drivers side bedside, it's now 20" shorter and took two weekends and about 16 hours. Still have to stitch weld it all together. Patched up the backside too.

Sunday afternoon did some work on the 66. Changed the oil, replaced the muffler and fixed all the lights. Now onto to some brake work and get ready for its first trip on the road in a while.

And off the trailer onto my converted O Reilly's cart. A little work to do on it, but over all a real good cab. This came from the yard here in Longmont.

lee64,
That's terrific. Nice clean cab to work with. It will make your build go so much faster. Overall that's a really nice cab with minimal rust. Mine was similar but I never had an opportunity to get mine blasted. What's next?

Lugnutz65, a year and 5 months now. But it's in the garage with etch primer on it. 3 weeks and it will be sitting on the frame and the rest of the pieces attached. I'll let it sit in primer till winter and drive it in the meantime. Then take it back down enough to paint. Getting tired of setting in the old cab making vroom , vroom sounds, lol.

Same for me. Been 3.5 years but I will rewire it next month and hope to drive the truck in primer by September. Just like you, but slower. Haha!
