Not an actual CL find, ...but original paperwork looking to find it's way back with the truck ('72 C10 Stepside shortbed).
Figured I'd post since years ago I came across original Docs for a '67 Camaro and amazingly located the current owner :) (For the record, I did email the CL ad person and mentioned this forum/post, ...would be cool if this got back with the truck) https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lg...834391760.html From the Ad: Nothing for sale its a long shot but my dad bought this truck new in 72 from Cormier Chevrolet we moved to Ohio in 75 and got the truck after my dad passed in 77. In mid 79 I drove it back to Carson (Avalon Village) and a guy that worked at Villa Liquor wanted my truck so bad I finally sold it to him, I believe his nam was Danny Mendoza (guess at the last name)and I believe he lived in Wilmington or Long Beach , he should be in his mid sixties by now . Pictures are before and after Danny fixed it up, I recently found all of the original paperwork for this truck, build sheet, partial window sticker, protect o plate and more that should go with this truck if its still out there, please e mail me at tac@neomed.edu Like I said its a long shot if not this stuff will be lost forever, thanks for reading |

Here is a similiar post in AL. He has the original glovebox door to a truck he use to own. I'm sure the owner would be glad to have that back. |

My interaction with him was fine, I saw his ad on CL, called and he mentioned his concurrent Ebay listing. We negotiated a price on the phone, and I caught a flight to Seattle the next day. I bought the truck, paid cash and received the signed title from the previous owner. I had actually seen the truck when it was originally listed a month prior, and spoke with the original owner at length about the condition and history of the truck. Unfortunately I missed out on it due to this flipper being local and having cash on hand. All was well, however I did get a slightly questionable vibe from him. Nonetheless, the truck was as described, and other than tacking on an additional $2K to what he initially bought the truck for, there was no reason to question his credibility. So off I went. A few days later upon returning home I looked up the Ebay listing to see if I could snag the photos off it, and realized the auction was still live, and had over 50 bidders! I thought about calling him to remind him to take it down, but by that time Had the truck, the title, and it was in my name, so I just watched the auction go to completion. It ended up closing with the winning bidder bidding $2500 over what i paid for the truck, so that was cool to know I still got a decent deal :) Shortly after, I realized his Ebay account had a recent negative review (obviously from the very disappointed auction "winner") stating that the seller had basically just ignored his calls and emails, calling him "Fraudulent". I figured Ebay would deliver a slap on the wrist to the seller for that type of shady dealing, but he still had 2 or 3 more trucks selling under that Ebay account. Now when I saw this red one on there I realized he has a NEW Ebay account name. When I met him and was checking out the truck he divulged that he has been flipping cars and trucks for years, specifically Toyota Land Cruisers, FJ40, 55, 60 series, and I guess was notorious and well disliked on the IH8MUD forum. Anyways. Just thought I'd share. Guy has a good eye for the trucks up in that PNW area, of which there are quite a few deals, but be aware, I wouldn't exactly consider him trustworthy. Luckily in my case I had they original owner's story to back up the truck, and I have been nothing but happy with it so far. His former Ebay handle 1979t.a Current Ebay handle Vintagehunter1979 |
