Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
no it is a 1.5mil protective, moisture proof primer, then after it you can use filler and high build/sandable.......that requires no reducer according to the PPG site.
what primer is on your truck? Jason, i'm working on it now |

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
Joe, it was 5 years ago. I know it was a budget primer. I didnt buy it because at the time there were 3 of us doing trucks and we kinda all bought different stuff/ materials and I ended up using 1/2gal of primer that someone else bought as a trade for some stuff I had at the time.
You will eventually get it straight. |

Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
Palace makes a better auto parts store than a paint supplier. I go there to get AC Delco parts as it is cheaper through them than from the dealer even with shop discount sometimes. There are some things I can show you that you don't have to buy all the expensive stuff to get a nice job. Sometimes though, it pays to get the good stuff up front. Call me anytime, no sense learning the hard way when I am a phone call or short drive away.

Hurry up and figure all of this paint stuff out. You and Scott won't have much time to get my cab done. I'm only gonna be there a week!;) I'm not even gonna comment on the pic of Scott and his response... |
Re: Our '66 Short Fleet Build
thanks guys,
Alan it is on the P sheet...after 7 days you have to scuff it and clean it before coating. Apparently it take 7 days for it to fully harden....so what do you do for a living?? I thought you worked in a paint shop, you just do the repair stuff and someone else paints? sorry, i'm nosey ;) |
